Sky

There are 2 main methods for rendering the sky in game..

  1. The game generates the sky by combining information such as time of day and weather, with layered cloud images and starfield etc. If time is moving on your world, the sky replicates the current gametime - at night the sky is black, on a bright sunny day it is blue.
  2. Use a fixed image for the sky - usually a big .jpg image of a pretty skyline.
The Sky Rendering Modes let you combine both methods, using different blend settings. If you're using a fixed sky image, and dont care about the effects of changing gametime, check out Sky Rendering Mode 13 or 14, which draw the image without any blending.

To change the texture used on the sky when you're using one of the fixed image modes, go to the server menu → Tools → Texture Selector and select the Sky Texture option from the list on the left. By default, Sky textures should be stored in Data\Textures\Misc

TODO - this should be in world editor screen now
