Okay. Would anyone who is planning to be at the fightnight like to volunteer to be a team captain? The only requirements are that you can fly a spaceship in a straight line and aren't pure evil. Although, I'm willing to negotiate on the latter.
I would also like to restate an early concern that may have seemed less authoritative in it's original form....
Fix the chat server!!
...please

I think you misunderstood what I was saying, BlackHat. I wasn't trying to be nasty, I just meant there are no set requirements for settings up a fightnight. It only takes a bit of time and a few forums posts. If I don't have the time to set up another one, you probably could.
Update: I wanted to point out that I've put up another video on tuwr about the fightnight. The links for it and the first one on this topic's first post.

No, I'm sure my significant other has plans. She normally does :]
One thing I'm not 100% sure of, is how long the system guardian stuff lasts... I've a feeling it only lasts as long as you're online (if someone can confirm or deny, that'd be helpful). It's probably not a problem unless you get d/c for some reason.
I'll be around a bit before the start of the event to set up the guardian stuff, but not for the duration, given the time difference.

Thanks to all who participated in tonight's fightnite. I'd like to post everyone's name and the winners of all the events, but it's passed midnight and I would really like some sleep.
I will; however, post this unfinished collection of the race footage for the time being.
race video (66MB)
Sorry it's so large...I'll make smaller versions of the final edition.
Oh...almost forgot the only screenshot I managed to grab of the space portion...was too busy most of the time to take them.

Nice screenshot. I took a few of the race also, but Pixia had to go and crash before I could save them.
Now that it's morning and I feel a bit more lively I will go ahead and announce the winners of each event.
Race Results
1st Place: Jwnb (5,000cr)
2nd Place: Android (3,000cr)
3rd Place:FBI6 (2,000cr)
Convoy Results
Winning Team: JohnDoe, Cyborg, Fatboy01, FBI6
Prize: 30,000cr split evenly
Mining Results
This was actually a tie between both teams. We decided to split the prize amongst everyone still there: Fhko, Cyborg, FBI6 and Tirion.
Prize: 20,000cr
BattleRoyale
We diverted from the team-based system to a FFA since only four players remained in contention.
Winning Player: Fhko
only because I had a galcruiser vs. all alien freighters, I don't expect a prize.
Hopefully fooli can distribute the prize money shortly. Thanks again to all who showed up. It was fun.

pixia? save the pics manually? eww
there's a free program called AT Screen Thief that can be set up to use a single hot key to take a picture of your active window and automatically save it to your hard drive. its quite handy since you can go around constantly hitting the key and take dozens of pics to look threw for the best one. its site is http://www.screenthiefsoft.com/atscrth_article.html
if not that, then there's always the free fraps. it automatically saves pics to your hard drive too.
