I think we should make the universal more newb friendly also which hooks on a player and makes him want to play. for example, they cant be killed while flying in cirrus minor, easy economic worlds like Zion with no food and drink requirements, and making the galactic news and planetry news more involved

-Edit-
with hopefully more updated news that is updated either weekly or daily, which ever can be done

Mit should create an 88x31 link button(AKA the coder's website standard), if this happens, I'll be more than happy to put it up on my domain. I could also create a link button myself if mit does not want to.

I suggest submitting theuniversal.net URL to a search engine, I can also see there is no meta tags for the search engine spiders to grab, I highly recommend adding them.

yeah i guess that would work. but since i dont know much about that kind of stuff, i can't do it. and as u said about the meta tags SirMelsereth, we should make it that if someone searched something like universe, or universal it would on the first page

Is there a way we can put this game on one of the sites where you vote for MMO games. I think it was on one of them there was an advertisment on Imperial with a site where you can vote but it didnt work for me. Something like that would get more player as I am always looking on sites like that for free games to play

resizing is easy.
and why would it matter if its 100 instead of 88?

The coding on some sites mean they only allow 88x31 but resizing should do it :)

No no no, Not the websites. Let me explain myself.

Alot of programmer/developer's websites have small images(88x31) that others can use to link to their website, some webmasters are picky about this as a huge or tiny images will look like a sore thumb in their collection. Which might stop them from putting it in in the first place.

For an example, take a look at my domain's link section: Here

Perhaps resurrecting good old biplaneworld might be worth having a look. Shame it had to be shut down in the first place...(why was that anyway I don't recall)...I had the best lap time for the world raceway...took a pic to prove it if anyone tries to dispute it :D

(for those of you who are not familar with this portion of TU history...biplaneworld was the beginning world that every new player spawned above and had to land on in order get the creds for a infimp...the world allowed players to experiment with the controls and TU basics with activities like biplane dogfights *hence the name*, driving formula 1 racers around a track and trading between buildings for sheckles....its also the highlight of my avatar eclipsing cirrus minor's sun... Image ...here's the main version...its pretty enough to be an advertisement if it weren't a little big)

unfortunately the settings and features of the game changed significantly and biplaneworld would have needed huge ammounts of work to make it run properly.

i still have the .isl file so anything is possible :)

if i actually was a use to the community in this manner then i would actually go for ressurecting it, especially because it was so many aspects that newbs can train with (for example planes which i have never used except once or twice in drellis) where they dont have to worry about problems such as food, water, cough steef cough and would be able to get used to harder worlds like planitia and zoric which have food and thirst requirements

After biplane went down I lost my spot to kill free time...helping/shooting noobs was kinda fun...hope you'll really consider trying to reopen it magic...with all these recent additions the game is starting to look more complete, but without a proper noob training program its not as appealing as it could be...

well, since that video can't do any advertising when it only sits on a few hard drives, it now can be seen by millions at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfBai8U_JDA.
i just uploaded it, so for a little while after this post, it wont be viewable since youtube has to 'process' it.
