Congrats to jonny and co for being the first to finish the republic server (after 6 days online).
This was just the first trial run, and the number of stoppages caused during the setup of the buildings means its not really a 'proper' result (i think gk8000, hija & co would probably have got there first if they had happened to have been online when i finished up the final production changes.. but ah well..)
Thanks to everyone who played, hope you enjoyed it. If you have any comments, suggestions or feedback about the world please pop em on the forums here. Id be very interested to hear what you thought of it all, good or bad.
I'll be fixing up a few lil odds n ends nd changing the map about a lil for the next run, which hopefully i'll start up tomorrow.

i agree i tried to hold that off as long as i can but SOMEONE got trigger happy :oP

oh yea this might or might not fly as an idea but a family only available option might be a handy thing to have on buildings... or give an option for 'family owned' buildings instead of just the person that bought or built the building, giving anyone in the family owner options since it is pushing the family theme.

Not sure if the current setup will allow it, but could you also have teams on the world? With some war stuff on it, it's a race for the first team to get to space. It requires good team work and some hard fought battles with the other team(s) to slow them down.
More advanced buildings produce more powerful weapons and higher level buildings have more armour. Also if defense buildings were made to work well it could provide a very good world, to rival even the hedge worlds (at least until hedge makes a world with the new additions).

well.. i was kinda disappointed of the lack of war aspect..the only hint of war it had the past few days were the nukes to finish the world. that and primitives weilding explosives, which is pretty much gone the first few minutes of gameplay. bullets would be nice to have.. some way to hold off others with besides beating them to the resource supply =). even something like the capture feature in conjunction with weapons like roja has would add i nice twist

I had planned on keeping this place mostly fighting-free, (except maybe adding some crows for lvl 4 peeps to play with perhaps). Im not sure its really practical to have combat on this sorta island - when i put MG's on the biplane temporarily it caused more annoyance than it was worth i thought..
After the next run I'll put the .isl out to other world owners lata so perhaps one of them will want to make a variant with fighting in it properly..
Meantime, for the next round i have (finally) implemented the 'DemolitionKit' (called 'Dynamite' on the world), which can be used to destroy opponent's buildings. It'll be quite a rare, expensive high-level item obviously...
Also changed for the next round..
'Ore Mines' will only be possible in certain regions of the map (same as the 'Gold Mines'). Additionally, I've removed the requirement for mines to be inside towns, which should allow a bit more freedom in town placement.
Theres a few more resources littered about the map, a lot of the building costs and decay rates have been 'tweaked' and a few more models have been filled in (tho we all still need fooli to get some time off to finish the characters n suchlike).
