I've also noticed that apparently the hardware store (Don't know about others) doesn't allow buying in of stock. And again, a useless building due to manufacturers of building materials can just sell straight from their own factory.

Whats the point to build commerce, if manufacturing buildings can already sell their wares direct to consumer?

Would it be possible to build only houses outside of towns?
