Chapter 3: Omni's basic guide for noobies.
There are resources spread all over the map, you'll have to travel a bit to find them. Here's an extremely useful map made by Kirby, it is also regularly updated:

Ok, now you may know where everything is settled. Here are the ingredients that will take you all the way to building your first hut:
Clay (Gather) + Stone (Gather) + Twigs = Smelter
Smelter + Copper Ore(Gather) + Tin Ore(Gather) = Bronze
Bronze + Twigs (Gather) = Bronze Axe
Smelter+ Iron Ore(Gather) = Iron
Use Bronze Axe = Wood
Iron+Wood = Hammer
Hammer + Stone(Gather) = Stone Bricks
Use Stone Bricks = Buildings!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll be able to build the most basic buildings:
- The hut.
- The farm.
- The mill.
- The bakery
They all work together to produce bread. The hut is you basic home and storage.
You'll be wanting to make some money, to survive. The hunger and thirst bar will keep rising. Most religions, temples and churches will give you money if you join them. So find your nearest church and join them.
Don't spend that money yet. You'll want to be spending that cash on skills at the Lyceum at Avalon for skills.
The two recommended skills for noobies are:
-Metallurgy. (build forges, and mines).
-Masonry. (build houses, and stores).
You'll find out though, that you need wisdom to learn those skills. So here's where you're gonna use that cash. To earn wisdom, just go to your nearest library and read a book. There are libraries in Babylon and Avalon. In mosts libraries it's just 1 gold per book. That will give you 1 wisdom. 1 wisdom is what you need for the skill.
Once you learn the skill, just click on it, then click on "Use skill". There you'll be able to choose which building you want to build.
Now you might want to know how to earn more cash, and faster. Well, all noobies start with the Mining skill. With that, you can work at the mines. So look for them and see if there's any job offering.
The Tricks of the Trade
So now you've got a general idea of how our little society works in Chapter 3. It is time for you to know all those little tricks out there which will help you to get up in the ranks. For goldmaking, we have LordMarcus' Money Making Guide.

I have no 'use item' option on anything I've gathered so far.
i spent a while running about wondering how people were making things last night until i realised that i extracted the update zip file into the wrong folder and wasn't on the right client.
the domain name http://www.tuguide.net now points to this guide
Flogging post;
player "ukers" is a THIEF.
I employed him as my miner, i gave him a pickaxe so he'd be more productive,
next day he went to work in some one else his mine,
effectively stealing my pickaxe.
Noob or no noob, there are ethics to considder.
This note will remain here untill he pays me back the 7 gold.

Ok,
he promised to pay me as soon as he has the gold,
so technically he's a joyrider in the company car,
i guess i'll live with that
We settled on calling this a miscommunication.
@ Bijou
No it's not OK to steal from some one who already gives pickaxes to his miners.
It's an investment, not a gift,
but i guess some peeps need a written contract.
