Model Converter - Animations

So I was poking around at some models we currently have available, and have some questions with the animations and usage ingame.
Are the animations still hardcoded? Ex: rev-caveman2.atm Pose 1 Action 1 is the one using for 'tasking', where Pose 1 is basic sitting, with the various head scratches, head gesture actions, etc.
Pose 2 3 and 4 on the caveman-sword guy action have various sword swinging and dodging animations.
Can we currently lock a player from moving, and put them into a specificed animation, or is the above 'just how it is right now'?
I'm pretty sure the animation tags are proper, I have a recent release of the converter.
