New station? Did you replace the space station model with a new one? If so and the poly count is significant enough something like this would probably cause frame rate to drop.

While the new station model is a bit more complex than the old one, especially in terms of textures (and I haven't done the LoDs yet) it's not such a massive increase in complexity as to cause a total collapse of your framerate. I mentioned this to mit and he thought it more likely that recent code changes have caused some sort of problem for your system, most likely your video card.

Could you post some more details please:

- your CPU & RAM
- your OS
- your video card
- which client version you're running

and we'll have a think. Well, mit will. I mean, I'll think about it, sure, but that won't get us anywhere - I'm a chimp :]

VC: this is prolly the most important bit. I don't have Vista but here are some instructions I found to ID your card under that OS: http://novice2expert.com/82/how-do-i-fi ... r-has.html

You could also tell me what resolution you're running in..

Ok, thanks. That means you're running the game on integrated chipset video (laptop, or some all-in-one thing from the likes of Dell?).

Integrated video is usually awful for games, but even so we ought to be giving you more than 1fps.

I just read somewhere that your chipset doesn't support hardware shaders, only software shaders: I've no idea if we use shaders but that's the kind of thing Mit will understand, and maybe be able to fix.

In the meantime... there's a program called 3d analyzer that might help you convince your video hardware to play nicely, but you'll need to know a bit about what's going on to make any use of it. In the mean-meantime I'll point Mit at the information you've provided, and keep my fingers crossed he can do something useful with it.

Cheers,
