The story:
At the young age of 16, you decide to move out of your parents house to live life on your own. you take with you some 100 Wood, 10 Tea, 10 Steaks, the family tractor, and your life savings of 1500s. While on your trek accross the countryside, you come to the small county of Zoric. A forbidden land of grassy rolling hills run by outlaws that live by the way of the gun. You pull into a town and finding that everything seems to be dirt cheap you decide to take up residence in the land.
The Economy side:
The economy design on zoric is to make it seem very easy to make money, get rich, and have fun. Although thier is a 100d per s scale, many items are less then an s to make. most things made directly from deneri costs less then 1d to make. 1d transfering will be an easy way to make money, and although thier is a 100d per s scale, will be quite profitible since many items are very cheap. This cheapness will (hopefully) lead to economic flooding and alot of compitition, which brings up the next section:
The Fighting side:
The money is easily obtainable, the economy is cheap. It will be very easy for most players to come into the island, get a house, stock it with the default items, and then build/buy a business. How will you handle this compitition? simple, blow em up. Weapons should play a big part in the island gameplay. Buildings and items are cheap so they can be easily replaced if blown up. building costs reflect the strength of buildings. more expensive = higher armor (the cost/armor ratio varies between catagories and tech levels of buildings). most of the generic vehicles wont have strong weapons, but higher up vehicles will. when you are blown up, you will loose your vehicle. when your building is blown up, it will be removed from the map. wether or not houses will be included in this is still unknown. besides weapons, buildings will decay and collapse in about 1 to 2 real weeks time. building materials are cheap, so this shoulden't be too much of a problem.
Vehicles:
All vehicles are named so they have thier vehicle # and name visible, i.e. vehicle 2 is "V2 Tractor". if your in a vehicle and it gets blown up, it will be removed from your inventory. The vehicles are arranged so that the higher the number = the higher the cost. thier are 4 main car factories, 1 plane fac, and 2 special vehicle facs. Vehicles from fac 2 need driver skill level 1, fac 3 needs driver skill level 2, etc. planes need Pilet skill, and the special vehicles need higher skill levels. You can only have 1 extra vehicle on you at a time, and vehicles must be kept in a Garage type building. Yes, garages can be blown up. Thier are two types of garages, a regular garage and a strong garage. the strong garage is higher tech level, uses much more materials, and has 4x the armor. even though destroyable, thier isen't much need to worry, as both garages are among the stronger buildings on the island.
Royalty:
although i said in the past royalty woulden't be on zoric anymore, all the new game stuff forces me to bring it back. The family size limit is 10, it will not change at all. the royalty goal on the island is to just build 1 ornamental. sounds easy doesen't it? well, thiers a catch to it, you have to make sure nobody else ever has an ornamental built or you'll risk loosing royalty. yes, royalty can be lost as easily as it can be gained. To get royalty you must build an ornamental and destroy any ornamentals owned by other families. this goes for every family for the duration of the island.
Bank and Savings Agency:
Bank is located by the starport. it currently has a 1% interest rate. this rate will change every day or few days. sometimes it'll go up, sometimes it'll go down.
Savings Agency is located next to the bank. It sells an item called Savings Bonds. it also buys them back. you can buy them when available, it produces 10 every 25 days, and will only make upto 10. You can sell back to it upto 10k savings bonds. these act similer to how they do in real life. basicly, you can buy some nbow at 10s per, and in 10-25 game years sell them back to the building for 100s per, or higher. the prices will vary day to day. as the economy grows and people become richer, the cost of the bonds will go up making already owned ones more valuable. when something happens that slows or stops the economy, the value will go down a bit.players may have a bank built in thier town. the players requesting the bank shall provide 50,000s to pay for construction of the bank (build cost 25k + 25k steel + 25k plastics). the bank will remain gov owned but will have interest rates that change different from other banks. same goes for Savings Agencies. basically, as long as zorics treasury stays positive, the bank interest and savings bond value will go up
Stock Market:
the stock market is a handy way to make money. you can buy stocks named after families, wait for them to (hopefully) go up, and then sell them back for more money. or the opposite can happen. the family could die and the stocks become worthless. stocks are claculated useing the families they represet. if the stocks are too risky for you, you could buy/sell savings bonds. savings bomds are calculated useing the island economy as a whole. taking into account dead players, buildings, and total players.
Race Track:
A race track is starting to be built in the town of Mountain Trail. it is a long race track with many hills and sharp curves. currently its only gravel, but thier are plans to beutify it in the future.
