Central Place to help newbies in space

Post by Sab »

Since I couldn't find a place to post ideas and thoughts about something that I think would make a good addition to the game, I will post it here. Sorry if it's in the wrong spot.

I'd like to ask that you think about implimenting a place that all players can hang out in, if they are new or old. A place new players could go to ask for help, and a place where old players can go to meet up with friends.

My suggestion is a large space station that orbits the sun in Cirrus Minor. This place could have such things as a bar, where people could buy food and drinks, not because you have to, but beacuse it's a social setting. You can even have monkeys as waiters. This space station could also be a place to repair ships, upgrade ships, and a place to purchase new ships. It could also be a place where rumors could be told of quest's and places to look for information about quest's. It could be a place for planet owners to recruit workers.

There are a lot of possibilities with this, and since players are starting to take an active role in recruiting new players, it would be a really good place to help keep new players.

I've seen new players already, which is a good thing, but if they don't have a good place to ask players questions, they might struggle enough to just not want to play.

Just a thought. :D

Yes, it's a good thought. However we've already been there and done that.

Oh hang on, that's wrong. We've been there but we haven't finished it yet :)

Space stations in general will be much more extensive whenever a)mit has time to finish the code for them, and b) (mostly, I suspect) I get time to build a complete station interior for you all to walk about in dissing each other. Complete with waiters. They might not be monkeys, though that's not such a bad idea :)

Great. That would help the new players tremendously. I know it would have helped me ask questions and get info on how to play when I first started.

Thanks for the reply.

Newbies can ask for help in space through the system chat but most of them don't realise the can chat coz when you log in the chat is set to " Main" and not to system chat as default. :? And some don't even realise there is a private chat button. :?
