theoretically would be an easy enough challenge for a new coder to pick up and convert with a bit of research ;) but not necessarily the best style of coding to learn in these days.

I highly doubt it matters in the Universal's engine/libs, But you need to learn OOP. It makes things so much more manageable.

For example, In your (good) little game, All those functions and vars could be declared and defined better.

P.S. The "using" keyword is evil, You'll find out why some day.

P.S.S. If you plan to propose this to Mit, You might want to use DirectX to render, that won't work ingame.
