tree line

Post by zaroba »

whatever happened to the command to lay a line of trees?
was it removed or is .treeline (tree num) (# of trees) not the command?

it's .treeline [number of trees] [type], as far as I know.

Haven't tested it recently. It could be that the new mapeditor stuff has replaced and/or broken it: also not tested by me, but I seem to remember mit saying you could use the editor to lay lines of trees...

You define trees using the model selection tool in the world server. At the moment there's a few (fairly poor) tree models included with the main install of the game. There are one or two others (probably even poorer) on the model library. Trees are bleedin' difficult to make, or there'd be more :/

theroetically...

on the server you goto the model selector, scroll down, and select what tree model is what tree. then in game you type .treeline (tree #) (# of trees) or .plantforest (tree #) (radious) (# of trees) and that tree gets planted.

ps, that might not be the right syntex for plantforest.

tree line i can't get working. was looking in the editor before posted and couldn't find anything for planting trees, diden't look to hard either though

It's

.plantforest [radius] [number of trees] [tree type]

Zar, I assume (well I'm almost certain) that you're using .treeline with a startline drawn?
