Help please
Um I cant seem to get how to connect to my world. I am trying to make my own but I cant get onto the blank planet to make any changes. Can somebody please help.
First, did you download and install the world creator: http://theuniversal.net/worldresources.php
If you did you would have two icons. One called The Universe, the other called Your World.
Second, in Program Files\TheUniversal there is a text doc called ServerConfig
Open that and double check that your ingame name is the name.
Example, my login/registering name is the name I go by here: Dvdgstwrt however my ingame name is Aradzell thus:
OWNER=Aradzell
Owner will be what ever your ingame name is. Simply look at the upper righthand coner of the spaceship "cockpit" the "in system" list of names - That name that you have there is the one you need in ServerConfig.
Once you have installed the program you will find a new button in the entry game interface called "Your World".
In your System Tray (next to the clock, lower right hand corner of unmodified windows) there should be an icon that a mouse curose over it reveals:
Name of Your World : X Players
Example for my world: T'muiria: 1 Player.
If you click on that icon what will come up is the world editor: in my case it says:
T'muiria - Unregitered World Server
File Options World info (blah)
From there you can do a lot.
Once you have your world server up and running you are not exactly connected to any world in the universe - that will not happen until you enter a nameless world - one that nobody has claimed.
Unfortunately as an unregistered world what will happen is that each time you "crash" or land on an unconnected/unnamed world while your world is online your world will appear there.
Once you establish a connection you can land on your world from the Continue Game button on the entry game page.
Other helpful stuff:
A lot of information on the game settings is found here: http://tuwr.net/
http://editthis.info/universalwiki/Special:Allpages has some helpful data too.
And then the Search Forums button here will help you too.
