trouble getting into world

every time i go into a world it says 'connecting to world' and then gets stuck on that and have to press control alt delete to get out of it. how can i get round this problem, and if u havent guessed im a newbie!

are you running the game in windowed or full screen?

if your running the game in windowed, thiers probably an error popping up behind the gameclient.
