can't drive boats "In The Sea"

this has been around since the 0.03.99.x ages

when you go off the map and "In The See" a boat will get stuck on invisable landscape.
land vehicles will still fall into the water and take damage.

how about taking away "the sea" to make the world more realistic, so when you go off the map instead of going though "the sea" then the opposite side of the map, you just go straight to the other side.

how about making the worlds round so the land covers the entire planet. There will be a north pole and south pole!

yes I did...I was sugesting make the world appear round like it does on earth! Right now the islands a square flat with terrain hights...
Only problem with my idea is that the world has to be huge to make everything act like it was on earth in real life...
The earth is a sphere and my idea is make the planet in the game be like the earth...but this idea is WAY to complex for this game.

It shouldn't be complex but I have a feeling that rewriting code is nobodys cup of tea today. :P

i like this idea. its like the game of snake on cell phones, instead of crashing into the wall you just go through and onto the other side, it would be like the world was round but it would still be flat at the same time, if you get my meaning. :idea:

nut dont take away all sea, i think it would work with the sea still being there

zar, just tried this and i was still able to sail ok. I got a bit of a kick on crossing the map edge, and the pitch and roll of the boat did get all messed up, such that sometimes it appeared to be floating a bit above the waves, and sometimes it went under water (i'll fix this bit soon), but it didnt actually stop me sailing.
Is this happening in only some directions from the map center?

bump : Todo fix the bit where they go underwater due to wave undulation (thats a big word for this time of day)
