Hello, i have problems with my island connecting to the main gate, i need someone to help me but all you say is "Get hosted with Zar" or "Probs with ya router" I have explained both, i like hosting my own island, and i dont have a router!! MY PC CONNECTS TO THE NET THRU A WIRELESS NETWORK! I dont want to have to keep shouting this so please help me, please just do me a favour and help me!! Okay?
If i dont get a reply within a few days/hours i will put this message all over the forums! Please help me, i have been patient, i have waited ONE WHOLE YEAR!! yes! ONE WHOLE YEAR for someone to help me, but no one has, no one!!! So i really want help now. Do you know how boring it is just driving around your island? With no one to talk to or fight? You have no idea! heres a thought:
maybe nobody has helped you because nobody knows a solution to your problem, in which case, posting all over the forums will only make you look like an asswipe and get you banned from the forums. odd how people think that flooding will help them, even on islands. its like they think somebody thats listening knows absolutly everything about everything.
and heres a way more logical and realistic reply to your topic::
you keep saying that you connect threw a wireless network or a wireless lan and you thus don't have a router. i'm guessing you don't fully know how networks work.
for a network to be a network at all (INCLUDING wireless networks) it HAS to have either a router, a hub, or a switch somewhere for all the connections to come together and communicate threw the single ISP connection or for communication between computers.
if you don't have one of those 3, then one of the computers on the lan would have to be set up with RRAS (Routing and Remote Access Services), so it acts like a router, otherwise all the communications between computers and the internet would become bottlenecked and thier woulden't be communications on the network.
so i say again, check for a router, its gotta be somewhere. its probably right near where the cable or dsl modem is. after all, thiers gotta be something that the wireless nic card is communicating with. and i've never heard of a wireless cable or dsl modem yet.
and if your still positive that thier is nothing like a router or whatever, then i got no clue what the problem is, and flooding the forums will do nothing to help you but get you banned if nobody knows how to solve your problems.

heh, yea.
anyway, back to the subject.
haven't had time to do testing with hubs yet as i wanted to this weekend, so maybew tomarrow (but unfortunatly i work tomnarrow too, and every day besides thursday).
another problem is that so far i've onoly found one of my hubs (i have 2 of them) and its an old one thats not designed for an ethernet connection to the internet, only has ethernet for the internat network. so no clue if it will work at all for the game (or in a modern network). i know the other one i have is more modern though and will continue looking for that one.
