Drellis 3, open now!

Post by GK8000 »

All righty, a new round of Drellis... This time you'll start in the center of a giant maze with nothing but your wits, pitted against other players in the ultimate struggle for resources to ultimately become the most powerful person on Drellis. The goal is to accumulate the most "D-Units" (Fancy material you'll use to build stuff) by capturing abandoned mines scattered throughout the maze while capturing oil deposits to fuel your funds and your war machines. Some things you'll notice... you'll start with 250 "D-Units" to do what you please (Don't blow it  ) and a compass. For more hints buy the "Drellis Readme" that's located in the plinth in the Drellis Settlement (The starting town). I'll continue to tweak this round as needed, so... have fun :D

The skills do develop its just very...very...very...very slow. Each second stands for one game day which is probably atleast an hour long (realtime).

Due to the large sphere of town, we can't make towns to build stuff in.

Lower the sphere of town! WE WANT TO BUILD TOWNS!

actually if their harder to find they wont be all filling up so fast like they have been. ppl will have to hunt to find it and almost require a map to remember where it was

Big Problem needs fixing ASAP:
Outpost is not working, even right next to it the world displays it as 'Open Country' so no defences or other buildings can be built. Also everytime I leave the world the town goes under Jehovah ownership and is set to sell for 200s (when this problem is fixed I want 'Mafia HQ' to be put under my ownership which it should rightfuly be). GK you second rate world owner ( :D )spend some more time testing to make sure things work before you launch a world.

Maybe it's just me, but this planet isn't playable. Hell, I'd almost be tempted to say that it's worse than battlezone. 5 mins on world I get jacked by some asshole who already has a shitload of buildings. By the time I get a chance to learn skills, guess what, they're useless. So I still can't build anything and am left sitting in safety because the asshole is back and decided to help himself to another free kill. So as it stands, I'm down to 19s, and he's gotten 2 kills from me. Somehow I see this pattern to continue seeing as how I'm pretty much screwed, and this jagoff will simply continue his ways. Kinda makes me wonder why I came back, between this shinola and econ worlds that are either dead or are pretty much family only games.

Well it wasn't me

But you need to either find someone with build town to build a base of a town for ya or get build town... The first day of playing is a vigerous attempt to get up to the power to beable to fight, just like modern society.

It is self balancing, between the teleports and the maze (and hoping your enemy doesn't have a radar...) you can easily evade your aggressor by seeking shelter at a foreign location of the maze, making brief appearances until you have enough power to go on the offensive, if need be I can increase the size of the safety zone in the spawn town...

Well, I think I must be missing something here... The only way to get a base so that you can build stuff to stand any chance is to buy the skill right... Unfortunately the skill costs more than you start with. So you award money for killing, except that if you can't get a hold of anything with a weapon you're still screwed. So you have some gov buying... Except that you need to sit there for 5 mins motonless to claim an oil deposit, and hope that one of the refineries have room for more oil. Plausible in day 1 situations when no one is running around with radar and vehicles, impossible beyond that. Almost reminds me of when zoric was doing that ten-six thing, if anyone else is on planet you can't do anything, but atleast there money wasn't any issue and you started with enough skills to get started. No such luck here.

Any chance you could do something so that makes it so that you aren't completely useless from the start? Otherwise it'll be pretty dull as the strong only get stronger and everyone else is merely an easy target.

The map place buys d-units for 1s each... go find about 1000 from a large mine and then cap it, wait... then turn in yer profits.
