Computer shuts down!!!!
I just got past my log in problems and now i HAve another problem. It logs on normally, the the screen goes black and then the computer says entering sleep mode and shuts down. What should I do?? I really want to play. Please Help!!!!!!
how old is the power supply?
when the power supply in my pc went bad, it would suddenly shut down when i was playing games that needed alot out of my video card and hard drives and/or off a cd. a few days later it stopped booting completly.
thier was somebody else long ago that had similer problems but thier pc would only shut down when playing this game. think he solved it by replacing his power supply also.

power supply.
most often the power supply is attached to or is sold with, the case its self.
if your broke.. like me.. go to the flea market or even a large thrift store and look around for one. you can prolly get the power box its self for under 20 bucks, just rip your pc apart and see what the voltage requerments are. A case will prolly run 40-80 bucks, if you cant find a loose power supply. there are often reasons they sold together, like propriatory skrew configurations and whatnot.... take that into account before you spend to much money.
what are your system specs? just outa queriosity.

puter troubles...
well.. have you considered formating your hard drive, and reinstalling windows.
i think it sounds crazy, but you if you want your pc to preform it should be done regularly. like once a month, or two. i just use 2 harddrives and have backups at all times.
make sure you have your installation disk's and keys before attempting this...
its not hard.

same here - i use an external for work & misc. files & two drives w/ windows on them - i just alternate the drives an format & reinstall on a seperate computer @ my leisure.
On a side note - places like CompUSA, MicroCenter, etc. (in th US) sell power supplies for as low as $25. You can also pull one out of allmost any computer. The voltage going to the individual drives/etc. is a constant - the higher voltage power supplies just have more leads to hook up more periferals. (SP) It would be rare to find a supply that runs a different voltage out to the periferals - You wouldnt want to run the wrong voltage to the motherboard tho, heh.
BTW - a bad power supply is what killed the Swabs server for a day or so - i just swapped it out w/ another one lying around an it's right back up running.
EDIT - if u have a power supply that doesnt line up w/ the holes so great, just make sure u get a couple in to have it grounded plz. =]

or just drill new holes
except for certain pc brands (like HP) the holes should line up fine. even with brands like HP, the holes line up, but not the socket area on the PSU itself (on the hp i had anyway). a small pair sheet metal cutters or even wire cutters can solve that though
vdz, because it wasen't helpful at all to the problem.
turn the pc back on? what kind of solution is that supposed to be? it does nothing at all to help with the problem.
