the next client coming out will actually have the skill restriction working for planes. up until now, pilot wasn't needed to fly your vehicles, however now that the restriction is fixed, you'll want to learn pilot before upgrading your client.
i know the map's a bit funky now that the labels for the towns have changed, hopefully that'll get sorted out soon as well.

Think .. then post lol.
Any thoughts on upping skill count at the same time? With the low population it's already hard to keep building running at anything but minimum efficiency. When another skill slot' gets taken up by driver/pilot/'boat' those that are sticking it out will only be able have 1 job class and it will severly impact world progression, etc. With some people being 'stuck' in the job class they picked first regrdless of whats needed at the present time.
I know there's pro's and con's to most everything and am sure you'll figure out something that helps keep things balanced while not severly impactiong the 'playability' of your world. Just voicing my 2 cents on the upcoming changes based on your post.

For travel I mainly use my super speed maruader to get around town and stock all the buildings (requires driver skill). I also use my helicopter to scout long distances and to reach the oil rig in the middle of the sea (would now require pilot). To keep things producing and such I take jobs mainly as scientist at various places and then theres also my engineer skill which I obtained first and therefore can't dispose of (I use this only ocasionally to hold jobs mainly only temporary). Now does anyone see a conflict here? What would you suggest I do under current circumstances? If skills slots arn't increased I'm probably gonna be in a world of hurt. You might also combine all vehicle skills into one skill which would solve the problem as well.
Oh yeah whats with the down time? (it better be temporary)

and yet, other people said to keep it up because "it was just getting good".theseer wrote:Reina Roja's plomb-bump , I only kept playing to savour in my richness... and last i checked i was s till richest but since the things went for sale and pitchoun couldn't keep his grubby hands away theres not much point in playing no more... ^_^
i maintain my original idea may still be working out...the pros and griefers get bored, the others come in.

Back to the subject of changes to Reina Roja:
It might be a good idea to have either three seperate rigs for each team or a rig that rotates what team it belongs to, so that it remains on one teams side only long enough to produce 1000 crude or something and then swiches to the next team in order. This would allow the crude to be fairly distributed and makes it important for members of a team to be on at least some of the time to ensure that they get the oil when its their turn.
( or a third option could be that players can build small oil rigs which are far more expensive to operate and produce smaller amounts then the main rig)
Since the way the rig is worked now the only way to get any crude if your not the team with the rig, is to trade for it (which has become increasingly difficult sinse bong has locked down the rig so only he can remove it) or steal the rig back using some sneaky covert mission involving a secret agent or a defector. Theres down sides to both methods and neither is a certain way to get your crude. (It seems like I'm the only one who has lengthy and well thought out posts around here )

funny how you mention the 1 rig per team, whenever t1 mentioned it when t3 had the rig, we just got laughed at and told to just go capture the rig, which would have been very hard as kirby had it and didn't come on much. Once we did get it (when kirby didn't come in for ages and his buildings went up for sale) then we get complaints from t3, who had plenty of oil time.
Yes it's a bit unfair, but it's a bit rich comming from t3 who had it for soooo long and t1 and t2 had no chance of getting oil and thus were help back quite a bit while people like gk sat at our bases and killed everyone who spawned.

Hedge can we get an estimate on the expected downtime. I really don't want to hear that its gonna be another three weeks like last time. (maybe next time theres an electrical storm heading over you, you can shut your equipment down for a couple hours. Make sure to unplug it so there no risk of electrical surge)

Ok someone must know where Hedgehog has gotten to. He has been MIA for several days now and it doesn't look as though his planets have moved since the stone age. If anyone has the slightest idea whats keeping hedge or can suggest a good private detective to hunt him down please share your knowledge.
