Econ based, War based, both?

Ok, I'm gonna have to start Mystica some time, and being as busy as I am at the moment, that's gonna be a tad challenging, but anyway, a few questions.

Would you rather an econ world, a war world, or a bit of both?

I know we have roughly the same of each, and i'm guessing demand for econ is as high as fighting worlds yes? I could of course do a go between, but something tells me that's not gonna be enough.

I like the way battlezone runs, but I was thinking something a little more long term than that. Thoughts? I would rather have opinions rushing up now than when the world's up and everyone's complaining, so any suggestions will be noted and thought through, so knock yourselves out. It's difficult to cater for everyone, and when you do you end up with something for everyone each area is so watered down it ends up being no fun for anyone, so....

and for those of you who think this is my lazy attempt at getting idea's, your wrong, I have enough idea's, I just wan't to make sure I have something people will at least play on. :)

Current thoughts: Battlezone-like world with longer and slightly more detailed play, and some focussed racing.

I like the idea, but in reality I think the concept would be a bit flawed. Sure, everyone may think, cool we can now build up business and kill other people, but I think that you're dealing with two elements which need to have the player's undivided attention. For example you cant build a house whilst trying to fight off a maruading idiot intent on blowing you up.
I do have another idea which you can consider though. A better way to earn Kudos where you can challenge other players to a private combat session using tanks, planes etc. so they can kill each other but not disturb other players who are focusing on economy. Consider this

how about a 24hr world.

A mix between battlezone and reine blanche.
Early building level will be defense based, so you can't attack players from another team yet. make it so there are quite a lot of buildings, better defenses, better weapons towards the end.

Also i'm not convinced about the choose your team element as a lot of people go to the stronger team, having the teams selected randomly would be a lot more fairer.

Something similar to this is on planitia, but I dont think it's well defined - it would be nice to have a large play area just for fighting away from the econ side of the world, I agree with you, and it's certainly worth considering. For now I need to get up a world while I work on this more challenging one I have in mind, otherwise we'll just be dealing with another derelict planet.

About defence you should have one that is up all the time.

If you don't have npcs or buildings that attack by a script aka if opposing team player is in a point in the designated posible spots to shoot and building is ready to fire then damage player and set the time that turrent will be able to fire to (current time)+(cool down time). this is to prevent players from comming into the other base and reacking havak. one more thing is make it so that planes are in very few in supply. eather by making them only attack with week bullets and expencive to buy or maintain. one thing I think is certain make it so that if you get killed you loose what you are holding at least when it comes to weapons. and when your vehicle is destroyed it is permently damaged or just unuseable till you repair it. tanks would be nice so that you can have buildings be almost imortal to builit fire (so that planes cant kill everything). and have heavy weapons be the only thing that players can destroy things with. with the exception of maybe a plane flying head first to a building called the world trade center.

You could have it so that you can only respawn at a hospital so that when all the hospitals are destroyed the other team wins if every one is one the other team is dead.
