ok i wont go into this bug much. but someone has told me how to use a program to get urself money without owner knowing it..sry zar....i used this bug on newbie and got myself 800k in about 1 min now i really would like to talk to about this. like i said very bad bug Matthew8459@yahoo.com
Strictly, I'd call that a cheat rather than a bug. :] Thx for reporting it, matthew. Will mail you privately to discuss this further.
This is perhaps a good time to explain how the development of this game works and the 'policy' on cheats like this one..
Firstly, as you're probably aware, this game is being written (mostly) by me in my spare time (which is rare enough what with a full-time job and life to contend with). Although i try to keep the game secure wherever possible (and it is always a core consideration whenever features are added) there will inevitably be gaps via which a player could cheat on an island.
I have no problem with players looking for cheats and ways to 'get round' the game economy (in fact, i'd actively encourage it - in the long run it will help create a more secure and better game for us all) as long as any cheats or bugs are reported to me so i can fix it.
Anyone deliberately abusing a cheat or bug without reporting it is a) not helping the game develop, and they should really be off playing something a bit more finished & 'commercial' and b) spoiling the game for themselves and other players.
Anyone discovered abusing a cheat or bug without reporting it will face the most severe restrictions I can impose - including, where possible, being permanently excluded from private-testing sessions and future versions of the game. That might not mean much now, but imagine if this ever became really 'big' and you weren't able to participate coz u were silly enough to cheat in the early stages of the game.
Conversely (the carrot to go with this particular stick) anyone who promptly reports bugs or cheats like this one will earn my gratitude & respect and will be much more likely to gain status within the game and the staff setup.
