I need help makin a map plz, well i made 1 but when i loaded it up on my isle, it was just all water, and i put hills and holes on it. =\ plz help.

Try to lower the "max sea level" in terrain editor windows.
If still not working, post a screenshot of that window here.
This should be in "Island Setup" Forum.
Do i have any moderations rights here ?
(later) oh, fine, thanks "management"
, i can moderate now.
Topic moved where it belong (is an island setup question).

if the map had any tall "hills" on it, then they easily should have shown over the default water level of 30. if not, you could try lowering the water level to 5 or so in the Terrain Editor on the server. at the bottem of the window just set both of the sea level settings to 5 and confirm the changes.
if that doesen't work. then the heightmap might not be getting linked to properly. Is the picture in the islands maps folder? if so, are you typeing it in correctly? the server only needs the pictures name, doesen't need the extension or path to it.

more than likely no one told you the specific requirements for the image: it needs to be a 256x256 grayscale bitmap saved as 8bit.
the easy way to do this is open up another map in your maps folder and just paint over that.
or just try using this as a template, and see if that helps:

note that using pure black or pure white can sometimes feck up the rendering.
