OH MY GOD
OH MY GOD
Things have changed alot in the last... 7 months I think. Yes I have come back, whether for a short or long time is unclear at the moment. anyway, I can't connect to anything. I fly to a planet and it says no connection. So I posted here.
EDIT: DAMMIT! Still have to pay for world. That means a short staying time for me then.

guess it depends on how you use it.
i've often heard of Terraforming in space games being converting an inhospitible planet into a hospitable one by converting water/ice, carbon and other minerals into oxygen, etc to create an atmosphere that can sustain life.
if you've ever seen the movie Total Recall an example of terraforming would be towards the end of the movie where the alien machine split the ice into hydrogen and oxygen which allowed people to breath outside the domes. the machine itself being a Terraformer.

Mmmmmmmmm.......... This can be nice....
Much like in Gunbound, a kinda free, yet "Pay to Cheat" game.... even as the players who actually pay money may gain an advantage in the game, the best weapons and armour are reserved for genuine players with their own virtual cash. That means they work their socks off in the game to gain the best stuff.
Although in this game we do not "Pay to Cheat", but more like "Pay to have the honour of hosting an unlimited planet", I think the motivation of getting one of those for free is tremendous. They must get ... A LOT of galactic credits should be allowed to buy something like a "Terraforming Machine" ... and go to a random 'unoccupied planet' in Star System Tau-X. They may then terraform the place, and also buy a deployable ... Space Dock (errrrrrrrrr. I should be beaten with a banana for this.... but what's those round things in the centre of the planet called?) and start 'owning' a world.
Of course, if this the person must be willing to host a server if this planet is going to be a proper economic public planet. This "Terraformer" prize, or the ability to host a fulll planet should not be awarded easily.
I was also thinking that if the person is not willing to host a dedicated server for this planet, then it could be a registered planet, but only goes online if the client goes online. The planet will become the private "home" of the individual who 'owns' it. Because it is a private planet, access is denied (Great excuse for being "offline", isn't it?) to the general public (perhaps by a very arrogant atmosphere or planetary keep-annoying-trespassers-out systems.) To make more sense of this, even if the owner is online, he/she must 'invite' others to enter the planet to allow them to enter. COOL.
This planet can be decorated the way the owner wants, and make it look nice. make it a racing world or fighting world or whatever.
I can see a future where players will go "Hey, dude. wanna see my place?"
To get one of these, you must be one of the most experienced and best players around. after all, where are you gonna get your Galactic credits from?
P.S. OOPSS. I just remembered Mit saying something about giving out prizes, perhaps real-cash or free worlds for really good players. well, interpret the above as one way to implement it into the game itself..

It's worth the money, but you need hosting, reliable hosting, and ones who don't catch viruses.. ZAR!. Oh well, it's free

I used to hate it when aunts and grandmas, used to come up to me at weddings and pinch my cheeks and say "Your next" "Your next". Well they stopped doin that crap when i started to do it to them at funerals.
Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch some Marijuana. Jack got high and dropped his fly and said do you wanna? Jill said yes and dropped her dress and then they had some fun. Silly Jill forgot her pill and then they had a son
