Town Radious Bug

there seems to be a bug with placing farms...

80 town radious... people can build like 12 sqares away in town...

but farms have to go miles and miles away?

Whats your World -> Town Separation ?
This defines the region beyond the town radius in which other towns or farms cannot be built.

Thinking about it tho.. that whole 'farms have to be outside towns' rule is a bit pointless really - its pretty much legacy stuff from 0.009 era tractor.

I could add new building process options to allow you to control whether farms have to be built outside towns, or whether they can be built on the 'outskirts'... or alternatively jus take out that rule completely and have farms only possible within towns like all other buildings..

Thoughts?

humm I like it how it is.. but would be nice to have a flag

"Farms Build =
0 outside town radious
1 outscairet
2 inside town limits
3 anywhere on map"

at least it gives the owner the option. :P

this option already exists since late 04 -- economy settings--> building process 3 and 5.

i ratha like the flexibility of leaving it as an option (remove a feature?!? *gasp*!), but if you wind up doin all that might wanna check through that stuff first.

Surely whether you can build a farm ought to depend on the resource characteristics of the tile you're trying to build it on :)

the limitation of only having one property per tilenum tho makes it rather difficult at times. tho i understand it's a bandwidth thing it kinda turns me off using props when i can do something another way unless absolutely needed.

Aye - and not surface properties, hedge.. resources as in Natural Resources stuff discussed elsewhere. Thatll get integrated somepoint in the future.
