Hosting Two Worlds on One computer

Post by Jemrada »

I was wondering if anybody with exsperence with hosting two world on one computer could give me some pointers. I host my world ( Sabrada ) on my computer which is running XP.

I know someone who wants to host a world and asked me if I could host it for him. I was wondering how hard this could be or what I should consider before doing so.

its not a problem (i have 4 on my server machine atm). You need to have a special registration file for the world to identify it - mail me for one of those once the other world is set up in its own folder and ready to go.
(Obviously the second world will need to be 'paid for' separately)

Btw, don't try to run 2 worlds without a special registration file - The galaxy won't like it and will probably end up making both inaccessible.

oh and for the actual setting up of a second world - you just need to create a separate install folder for it to store all its player and map records etc.
You can use the "Data Folders" option on the server(s) so that your model, texture, radio and sound folders are shared between multiple worlds, rather than having separate model folders for each.
