Wanting to join the crew.

Post by Jemrada »

I have been playing Tractor for awhile and was wondering if it is possible to help with your web hosting stuff. I am a web host and enjoy working on websites when I am not playing tracotr or at my regular job.

Just wanted to let you know that I can help out when it comes to the hosting stuff. If maybe Mit or someone can contact me if they are interested.

depends on the type of staff ou mean. but generally:

besides playing for a while, you should also know how to play really well, help others well, be trusted by mit and other current staff, and being really active helps most of this greatly.

mit is very selective with who is made staff (don't need tons) and all the times i've seen others added, he would ask the other staff for input on the person in question. if all is ok, usually a week later the person is added.

If you're a good modeller, really good texture artist or really quite amazingly good coder, you'd prolly be snapped up as "Staff" quicker that you'd believe. Other than that, helpful, responsible players can make it to the dizzy heights of "Op" (next time we're recruiting Ops); and, once the new website is up and running and stable, there might be potential for interested parties to help out in some way. To be honest, tho, mostly we need artists and people who're up for designing and running worlds.

yeh, level developers are quite needed; a status achieved simply by purchasin' a world, figuring out how the server stuff all works, and then eh... letting us know how it all works if you could

Texture artists. That is, people that could take a template like this:

and paint on it to produce something like this:

so the end result looks something like this:

And if u can build the models too (ie, you're a 3d artist) we'd love you lots and lots. At the moment, we have one modeller and one texture artist on the game (on the staff, at least - lots of other people make their own models/textures). The more artists we have, the faster we can create new content for world owners to use on their, er, worlds. Artistic types also create landscape textures, heightmaps, interface components etc.

So yeh, that kinda artist.

so when are all us other modellers gonna be added to the actual staff? :P
