Wings Field now Open

Post by zaroba »

Wings Field is now open in System 209 and is ready for your plane flying needs.
you can go in and freely fly planes around, or race on the racetrack for money.

The Race Track is huge and designed for planes only.
vehicle 2 is a car that can be drivin around (like to get to the race start) but the track itself can't be drivin on by cars.
the track is made of about 50 checkpoints. each checkpoint flag is located intop of a tower. As you advance threw the track, it will get harder, it starts out wide, with nice big turns, but the further you get threw it, the turns get sharper, the towers get closer. towards the end thier is also cavern that the course goes threw. if you crash its alright, you respawn right where you crashed.

thier are 3 stratagies that can be used when flying the track, each one has its good and bad points:
1. You can fly low to the ground and follow the arrow, flying between the towers holding the flags. with this method, your close to the ground and might crash easier. plus the towers are wider at the bottems, so space is smaller when flying between the towers. you will also have to fly high to get into the canyon enterance and the finish line. but you get the best guide thier is, the arrow.
2. you can fly mid height and follow the road that follows the track, flying between the towers holding the flags. This is probably the best of the two. here you can see the road, possibly the arrow, possibly the flags too. zoom the camera out a bit and see it all. however, your still flying between the towers and its narrower then at the top. careful not to hit the walls on some of those sharp turns.
3. you could fly very high and just follow the flags you see on top of the towers, flying just above the tops of the towers. This method might be the easiest. you fly towards a flag until it diseapears or (if your really high) listen for the sound of going threw a checkpoint. its harder to fall because your up high, and you don't have to worry about turning to sharp and hitting a wall. but, if your going fast, or are too high, then you might not be able to see the next set of flags while going around a turn, so its easier to miss checkpoints. but the road is still thier, so before going threw a checkpoint, you can see where the next one will be by watching where the road goes.

The Prize:
If you complete the race in less then 10 mins, you get 100 credits.
the credit exchange for Wings Field is 100s = 1cr
so 10 times around the track will get you the max exchange.

it might seem hard, but it isen't really. in races with tom and matt, even with crashing and missing a checkpoint or two, it was possible to get under 10 mins, or close to 10 mins. and we were useing slow planes (it was before i set up the vehicles)
