seems like the community is happier now that i am annoyed and have quit, well what a waist of time, now i know i'm not coming back EVER!
and new players who are smart and read before they leap into something don't bother with this game, it doesn't even deserve an alpha status... if your a honest person like myself you will likely most find the experience over all horrible, as this game is filled with people who see you and an opportunity for exploitation... sounds fun don't it? More over by time you figure out how things work you'll quickly learn as there is little you can do about it as this game hinges heavy on co-operation with these detestable people. I met a few nice people but they don't even play the game, the are just here to chat though they might help you with something here or there your most then likely going to have to deal with a tyrant, who going to wear down your patience, i've tried this game many times and the result is always as stated above.
i am not the first person to leave this game so angry, players leave annoyed and upset all the time, that's why the game only has like 6 people playing it and 5 of them just chat... haha, it's so pathetic, so heed what i say cause the people who take enjoyment from you being upset will not tell you this, they will have their fun with you until you learn it for yourself.
would you work on a puzzle if you new more then half the pieces where gone or play with a deck of cards with ten cards in it? of course not

... or maybe you are just on damage control.....
maybe you though you could push me too and i would just take it... or you wanted to see how far this "good the universal drama" would go?
maybe you though my "good-bye" post would be the usual nonsense spouted from a player too angry and frustrated to say what needed saying...

Sorry, but if you are trying to make a point, I'm missing it.
If you want the honest truth, and I swear to god I am being truthful when I say this,
I really don't care if somebody decides to stop playing the game. Doesn't matter what the reason is. Could be they get bored of the game or slow development, could be due to getting frustrated over their hard work being blown to bits on a world. Doesn't matter to me.
Players come and go. Players come, play, get bored, and move on. It's the normal cycle that the player base of every single multiplayer game goes threw. There will be the few die-hards that always hang around but most players don't remain more then a few years. It is inevitable that players will move onto other games and as such, I see no reason to fret over it.
Please don't take any of this personally, it's just my opinion and how I feel.
And honestly, when people make topics about quitting it makes me think they just want attention. Either you want to get others to leave with you or you hope that somebody will convince you to stay. Otherwise, you wouldn't still be reading and replying to the topic.

The game is still more active now then it was before the whole chapter stuff started.
I remember a good few months were the only players were Morvis and myself.
Or at least, he was the only other person I ever saw and I was the only other person he ever saw.
And, how am I chasing you away? you already said you were done with the game.

Allright, well it's one thing to stop playing because you don't like the way you were treated by a person or two on a planet, and just let your stuff everywhere else take natures course about it. But when you throw a fit and intentionally sabotage other player's experience on other planets that had NOTHING to do with what you're upset over, that's kinda fecked up and pretty damn childish. I liked seeing you around, because you know how to get shinola done and i thought you had a pretty decent sense about you.
That little card game analogy is amusing and all until you realize that you're one of the missing cards in the deck.

If you will notice at the top right corner of the forum and the game login screen, development status is indicated. It currently shows to be in alpha state. Generally alpha state means it's still under hefty development and not ready for a massive playerbase. The current focus of running the program and logging in for anyone involved is development. Those who wish not to participate in the development phase and only play are welcome to do so but must understand the limitations that comes with. How many players are around is not really as much a worry as having things for the players to do, and considering the fact that everyone involved in any developmental areas of the game, which includes planet content creation is doing it on a strictly volunteer/hobby basis along side whatever full time job and families they have, you can imagine the pace to expect things to chug along at. And that's fine.
The goal right now isn't to 'have a lot of players' but have players that are willing to hang around in spite of what ever lulls that may happen and be a part of the process. To be willing to participate on the planets as the planets are written to be played and not get mad when others do. So you're not hurting anyone's feelings talking about a few days that hardly anyone is connected, which really seems to be the only reason for the last few posts I've seen. If I had the ability to lock a post, this would be a fine candidate as I feel everything has been said of any productive value.
g'day now.

While I'm sure you probably put a lot of time into Xebec you kinda have to be prepared to lose things on a fighting world, that's just how this game can be. Its the same as Economies, they don't last forever, eventually Economies are reset to allow room for newer players to grow or if they have gone a bit stale. But I mean, at least to me, part of the fun of this game is starting again and building up from scratch, or perhaps trying to compete/work together with other players.
From what I see you are just giving an opinion on the community as a whole because you had a bad experience with one or two players. There's going to be some people you like and some you don't, that's the same in any game, its just a part of life in general.
If it really has ticked you off a lot then take it to that person or the owner of the world, don't come onto the forums to then downsize the game telling people to avoid it just because you got annoyed over an incident, its a bit of an asshole move in my books because Mit has been working hard to code it all from scratch despite having other obligations, and also on next to no pay. Just my two cents, I'm not having a go, just saying direct your anger elsewhere because you will just end up leaving on bad terms with people when there's really no need to.

i enjoyed xebec thoroughly
my problem was primarily with the "community" though i use that word very loosly, as it's used to define the player base of a game, but does not reflect the actions of many of those people.
what i didn't like was loosing hundreds of hours of stocking in a flash, i think some assholes out there think that i am exaggerating but really it is an understatement.
jealousy
there is nothing i can do about it...
and it's also stupid that you can drop 25000+ in sheckles to try to make things secure to have this result.

Those are two things that should be expected in *any* PvP game.ultramarine wrote:what i didn't like was loosing hundreds of hours of stocking in a flash

Those are two things you can avoid by not playing on a fighting world.
These two reasons are exactly why I don't play on fighting worlds.
