Galactic Prestige For Xebec?

Post by ultramarine »

I was wonder if it was possible for there to be GP for xebec was thinking maybe

25000s for 1 gp
max 4 gp or 100000s a month?

i've been playing for a while and even as an experienced player that goal is quite lofty

whaddya think?

even

50000 for 1 gp
max 2 gp or 100000s a month

would be better then the current 0 gp

i feel like if there was more incentive to play different planets then more players would play more planets thus extending their play time and more players on each planet giving players more to do on each planet thus again extending play time for players.

as i've heard the philosophy lets play where we can get ahead cropping up...

while i find no flaw in this philosophy, why not make it so more places can get you "ahead"?

Yeah, I think its a good time to talk about that, since I've handed the server to you, mit, and th economy seems to be functioning without the need for further tweaking. I'd like to perhaps see Ultra's numbers halved, even. as to draw in more players to the planet. the kudos/wisdom is based on kills and destruction of other player's castles, so I think it'd be better to use sheckles for prestige. also, I think the planet should be added to the finite drive, please :D G.P. for Xebec, big affirmative

i've been talking with stim and i agree that gp for xebec might be a help when combined with this new lets kill the king mode of game play as the king is able to make money off of a construction tax this i feel this is good incentive to kill the king, if money can get you gp, otherwise killing someone might only bring conflict your way so current incentive is to live and let live as to not have some angry player come seeking revenge at your city limits.

another note, the current said goal is a lofty challenge, i've been playing for a while and i'm not sure if 100k is possible in a month but i thought it would be better to start with a goal that is too challenging and that needs to be brought down a bit, then having a goal that is too easy and have player become unhappy when you set the challenge to be greater.

What if on top of a construction tax there was also an income tax where living players were taxed a percentage of total net worth, i think this would defiantly force the conflict between king and subjects.

As a player like myself who has spent many days (trippillx has been on the world for 513 hours, 54 mins & 40 seconds. and counting) securing his wealth and building up his empire i would surly notice these bites on my fortune and would mobilize to put an end to it, and then i would become the one making the gains, so i become the target, but what choice did i have? Had I not acted my wealth would have surly been drained away. As it stands i am content i have most of the things i wanted, and the title of king may not be worth having every radical come pillaging my lands.

For new players with the current available infrastructure provided by the happy villagers and slaves of Fort Valor it is possible to make a little bits of money quickly from nothing,
example animals spawn around ambar and you can kill them for animals. animals buy in ambar for something like 2d per unit, where in fort valor it's something like 5d to as much as 10d i believe, and you can in turn bring leather back to amber for a 20d profit, which is made when animals are processed, i will detail this process and many others in my guide to fort valor which is in the works i've been fortunate to have a few people come through and check things out and thus far there is only one sang (can't buy your made bottles from glass blowers however an abundance of bottles are being made available at the walls buildings.) Unfortunately for the guide at least, i've been a busy space colonist and have been playing far too much to actually start processing the information for addition to the forums. So this tax will may be bother some for players it will not break their characters or make it impossible to feed themselves before they die because they can't save of the cash to buy food, food is very affordable in fort valor 10 - 25d in most cases so pop in and say thanks to wes for me he's usualy around in the early night (texan time).

Lastly you might be worried that you will not be able to arm yourself and that you will be picked off or out right massacred before you reach your first birthday, while this is not out of the realm of possibilities, another great thing about fort valor is that with in it's walls and around her boarders you may not use weapons, however many basic weapons and armors are available for sale, also in expensive, and if you weren't able to get much cash in feeling from the wilds, there is lots to do inside the safety of the city to help your income. try not to doddle though, as if i see you congregating outside of the city too long this might been seen as a threatening action, while i want to see players do well i am not a target for assassination attempts.

I checked the bdat and cant figure out why glassblowers cant sell bottles. as for the income tax, I don't know how to do that yet. I know a building tax is possible since I already have building events. and like you said, just knowing some other guy is king is enough to spark a conflict lol. ill have to get zar to show me how to:
*see what a player's # of kudos are
*record the max number of kudos any 1 player has as a servervar
*record the playername of the person who currently has the highest kudos
*recall said servervar and player name

everything else I can incorporate into the script, right down to the script knowing whether there's a queen or a king.

as for gp. I think its a good idea, but seeing as no other planets have gp yet either, im going to sit back and have faith that Mit has a plan for all that.

well these ideas proposed may take some time to implement and some of them it will not be possible to implement; but that are alas they are only ideas, simply input from a players perspective.

another thing i've noticed is the high volume of activity going on behind the scenes, with developers toiling away on their special projects for players to explore, ah it is a great time to be an explorer colonist,
i've been monitoring their comm channels and while i do not understand the secret code they speak in i can tell that things behind the scenes are not as fluid as the general playing populace would like, but please my fellow explores, adventures, colonists and mercenaries have some patience, i feel like great things are around the corner, and if we not press these developers and rush them, but in turn try to support their efforts though continued game play even through rockier bits i think that things in the community might be smoother and new playership will follow more rapidly.

some of you may say ultramarine or trippillx or whoever you are you are a hypocrite and you have quit the universal many times in the past, and i will say you are right, and that i will try to follow my own advice as posted above.
