setting for world map item use

I'm trying to disable the world map unless you own the item. I thought i had that setting set, but it opens the map with f5. I looked through settings for the last hour or so, and couldnt find it. anyone know how to activate the world map item?! thanks.

in *settings/map i think theres an option where you select the frame of the map and one option set it to be purchasable.

woah, now theres an obscure and indecipherable setting which I really must fix.
Apparently its
*settings -> Graphics -> Display Mode = 3
which makes you need the 'Island Map' item (item num 130) in order to view the world map. The terribly useless-sounding "Display Mode" also controls such funky items as whether the clock is displayed as an ancient calendar and um, where on screen the weapons dialog sits.

As Mat says, theres also
*settings -> Graphics -> Show Position on Map
and
*settings -> Graphics -> Map Display Mode
which control the appearance and functionality of the map.
I really gotta sort this out sometime
