During community talks a new space program evolved from the one thought feeble was capable of: get to space using the vast amount of bread now available to the population. Bijou was called along as he has the keys to the bakery and so helped for the space race to start hundreds of years before man can do such things.
In consequence to this early start, several horse breeders found their horses being used as the foundations to "the stairway to the stars", and rather unusually became the suppliers to the space programme.
The population now grow restless, their dreams filled with the smell of bread and thier yearning to reach the stars.
The space race is on,,, lmao

SPACE RACE IN JEOPARDY
After very little deliberation, Targ pointed out there was no moon for a landing, even if the bread reserves did reach a looooong way.
Not knowing what a "moon" was or what it was needed for the space race ground to a halt whilst the academy found books on "moons" and waited for a teacher.
Only one other problem reared itself, where/what on this land is Jeopardy? A new town perhaps?

The goal of the space race is to get to the sun, not to this non-existent moon thing that you speak of. Why else would it have been started despite looking in the sky for years and seeing no moony thingy?
We must get to the sun, land on it, and see what makes it shine so bright, probably lots of gold. Perhaps we can harvest its resources and bring them back to earth.

But but the moon would make a good half way point. However, with this new information we best get more bread ready and restart the program
