Inventory Expansion - Possibilities

As you know, we have been able to expand our inventory from 2 items capacity to 3 items.

Surely, there is a way to expand the inventory even more. If only by 1 item again.

With the invention of clay, you would think you could expand your inventory limit with some kind of pot or earthenware. Clay, when made has been called "Pottery". This seems a little confusing, as clay is used for pottery. It's not pottery until properly crafted and cooked. But the creator does have the power to make anything possible. Who can learn to understand his wisdom, he abundantly stores!

Since a Kiln has been created, it is darn impossible for people to do previous three combo tasks. For example: Fire and Clay. The only way to produce these is for some to discard there Kiln. Oh creator, the struggle this has caused us to discard our Kilns. Are you trying to teach us in a way we can't comprehend?

Also, now that we are able to cut down tree's with the Bronze Handaxe to acquire wood. Some have thought of the possibility of making a chest to further expand our inventory. The task of Wood + Wood has failed to produce a similar result of twigs. We continue to ponder over these seemingly impossible scenarios, because we know the creator is all powerful and if it don't make sense. Doesn't mean it is impossible.

With this said, it may not be the creators intention for use to be able to have more then this until we event some type of travel unit.

I created this thread to juggle some ideas about possible inventory ideas. What do you think?

Wood + [Tool] perhaps, or Wood + Wood + [Tool], where Tool is some item yet created, or the Hand Axe or something to carve the wood. I really don;t see anyone carving something with an axe, or making planks from rough logs with an Axe.

All i'll say is that there has already been a long conversation in chat in which someone described absolutely correctly all of the logic behind the next step, even down to the specific recipe required - to the point where i thought "oh thats good.. they'll be done on this tonight then". Unfortunately that was 2 days ago and no-one actually did anything about it

Re: the odd definition of clay/pottery etc.. yeh.. this is all a bit confused.

As i've indicated before, the revelations chapter will eventually become the first chapter for new players (in a new universe) and it will run at a very different rate. When thats built, i'll also be removing and re-scripting some of the odder steps like clay/pottery and making them more consistent.

no. the person involved in the conversation had wood. It was obvious from the way they were standing.

I am curious, is wood an ingredient that will be a requirement for our next invention or are we to far ahead of ourselves already with the excitement of metals?

Well, I'm exploring what can be done with coarse mud at the moment, and all of these combos have failed:
Black Rocks + Coarse Mud
Coarse Mud + Grey sludge
Black Sludge + Coarse Mud
Black Rocks + Coarse Mud + Simple Kiln
I'm working on Black Sludge + Coarse Mud + Simple Kiln at the moment.

EDIT: Black Sludge + Coarse Mud + Simple Kiln is a failure.

I have a hunch.... From what Mit has been saying online and on here. The way he answered a few online questions.

I am pretty certain that ether this invention or one that we need to invent is a pre-kiln task. Which means that you will need to use fire + Coarse Mud + (unknown item) to complete it.

I have a gut feel it is something to do with the Shaman message that we received about the timing being off. I don't think we solve that timing issue. I don't believe it was intended for clay. I think it was discovered and then we started jumping way ahead of our time once we discovered clay, kiln, metals and smelter. Now we are at a stand still.

Why are we at a stand still? We are missing a crucial invention before the kiln or even possible before clay was even discovered.

If I am understanding Mit correctly and not being lead astray. The comment about being on the right track was just before the kiln was invented and he is still saying we missed the invention, even though we do have the kiln and other inventions there after.

well, if your going down the course mud route, may i point out that in the 'what does it mean' thread, i put up several recipes and MIT replied that at least one of them was correct (mud, sludge and fire was the one for kiln), i draw your attension to the 'at least' part meaning possibly more than one works.

something to think about.

Yes, the one in that thread was mud + grey sludge + fire which was Clay. Hmm,

Which was discovered that same day Feb 15. From that, which I missed earlier. Monday was the Feb. 20. So clay was invented already, hmm I see now that it was Feb 19 the kiln was invented. Ok, I just talked myself out of my own hunch........
