Am I missing something?

OK, so, I got the game installer off the site, and I didn't need the update patch because they were the same version. So I jsut installed the first thing. When I launch the game, there's a lot of bugs going on. Things like when I try to maximise my window, it just closes the game. I tried going into a server, it downloaded everything, and gave me a tip. But the tip went off the side and I only got to see the first part of it. The whole screen was white at that time and I don't see anything. I went on the Zoric 6 server or something. I can't go on the Zion. So am I missing something? Or is there server down? I really think there should be an FAQ on the site... Or a section with details on what the game is like and stuff.

the whole screen being white at your first time playing isen't a bug.
its because the client needs to download all the models and textures from the server

Ok, I see. But now there's a problem thats been bugging me and i'm not sure if it's affecting me or not. But whenever I connect, I get this error that says

**** Error Message ****
Copy rects failed.

And I can choose to ignore, retry, or abort.

So what exactly does that do?

That message is triggered when the routine used to draw jpegs on the screen fails for some reason. Most common place jpegs are used are on the welcome screen when u first join a world. Does this happen on a particular world or all of em?
If its just one, it may be a problem with a particular settings mode used on that world, if its a global thing its probably caused by my code not accounting for your particular display configuration.
If it is global, could you perhaps try changing your desktop from 16 bit to 32bit colour (or vice versa if you're already at 32) and let me know if it makes any difference? Cheers

this is on zoric, i get it too, only started getting it when entering from windowed.
also get the pine01 error on zion.
if u don't know about this, ask me to type out the whole error
