Post by Fooli »

(from the UK, for now, at least).

Here's to... The Future. Lips are tight. Monkeys are Sealed. But the Future, yes, it is here. In development, anyway... but then, it always is :]

Have a peaceful and happy thinger everyone,

I already sent him an e-mail two weeks ago or so, about open-sourcing the game, so I hope he doesn't get my intentions wrong. Didn't receive an answer since then though. Thanks, will let you know if he {replies, doesn't reply} :)

I could never understand why the game wasn't partly open-source, split it. Keep the engine and release the game or the other way round. Or even something else open source and keep whatever you want to keep your own.

Happy New Year!

-----
Since open source got mentioned (and uni in another thread), thought I'd mention that University students can get Visual Studio (2005, 2008) and such for free through the DreamSpark program.

Darn thing!

My school isn't on any of the lists. So they want a scanned copy of my dated student ID card. Except our ID cards aren't dated. Well, it is dated, but that date is my date of birth, not the expiration date of the card.

Maybe I can use a permanent marker and a steady hand to fake a current date. :D

I'll figure something out. Give me some time.

See if you can fax it to them, that way you can reduce the image quality and make edits look more realistic compared to the real stuff. I'd go onto photo shop or something, find something similar in font size and type, then blur it and maybe extend the pixels out in a smudge on some areas. Perfect for faxing I'd say.
