It's unpayable.
Right now i have 11cr, soon i will get another 10cr off Zoric, but then there's no way i can make more credits.
But a Point Drive costs 50cr!
And because a Stardrive uses Uridium, which you have to pay with (limited) credits, it isn't really good to travel, especially because the L4 can only go to Cirrus Minor and M-225, and the L8 can go to exactly ONE other star system.
It's just way too expensive, the stuff in the galaxy.
All impossible to get.
Lower the Point Drive price
yes, tom, it will be.
prices of items in the galaxy are currently set to relatively high levels to make sure ppl don't get them too easily at this early stage. (Partly coz not all of the items work properly yet :] )
The amount you can get from the starting worlds will be increased over time, but still the point drive wont be cheap. Yes, the L4 stardrive only allows you to go to one other system, and L8 only one more after that - this is intended. The planet exchange rates etc will be set such that you will need to have bought both stardrives and progressed thru the first couple of star systems before you'll be able to get stuff like point drives.

As theres limited things to spend your money on in each system, that shouldnt be possible in the end.. I suppose a player could get a stardrive and uridium, and then exhaust all the possible credits available in the starting systems by stardriving back n forth.. but then thats their own damn fault
Main thing is it doesnt really matter if that happens... Unlike the worlds, players in the galaxy start with nothing, so there are no potential cheat-issues involved with resetting galactic characters. If you feck up your galaxy character completely, you can restart the game at any time and play again. (Btw, the command for that is currently !resetme - later on doing things like crashing into the sun or being completely destroyed in a space battle would be a 'Game Over' situation, and you'd have to start over.)
