I'm very glad to be back. Sorry I've been gone so long, but I was very busy this year (and I boycotted the game for a bit bc I was frustrated that zombie isle disappeared grr ) A lot has changed since I was last here!
But now, as always, I have a couple of questions...though this time related to island owning along with gameplay.
Is the building type limit 30 for all islands or just unregistered ones?
Is the fractal generator working yet? (It wouldnt load the landscape generator for me, so I had to use a greyscale heightmap)
Is it just me or is Apocalipsiworld missing a lot of the textures for its buildings? Furthermore, what's the texture for stores?
What's the item name for Vehicle 5 (the porsche), so I can grant myself one ?
How much does registering an island cost again?
Is there any way to invest large amounts of sheckles in your buildings without having to hold down the page up button for half an hour?
That's boot all I have for now. My new character name is Jem if you see me on the other islands, and my island's name is Virtua; however, it's protected by password, cuz even tho I have a t1 modem here at college it's still horrible at sending data through the client if the server is not on my LAN, so I'm restricting the island to people from my college for now until I can figure out how to reduce the massive amounts of ping that would result otherwise.
And Mit, are you going to ever put up the buildings section, or am I going to have to write one, hack into the website, and put it there myself? And thanks for putting me in the 'thanks' section of the about section on gameislands.com; it means a lot to me!

The fractal generator is the default method for generating the heightmap for your island (the other method being manually creating a greyscale heightmap and loading it onto your island). For me, the fractal generator isn't working; i get the error "Couldn't load landscape generator".
Concerning the models, I'm just saying the list that pops up when I click 'change model' (cuz for some reason all of the buildings on ApocWorld have the wrong models and textures) has all the models as far as I can tell but is missing some of the accompanying textures (for example, I can't find the store texture or the bakery texture, much less the crop farm texture).
I'll check again, but I think when I did that, the client said vehicle 5 wasnt an existing itemname or something like that.
Also, one question I forgot; how do I get the GPS working on my island (you know, the little x that tells you where you are in relation to everything else). Considering I championed the idea cuz I hate getting lost on the islands, I was looking forward to seeing it implemented.

Update: I gave myself a porsche, but now when i put the command *vehicle 5 nothing happens!
ok well if you type *settings then goto world settings, then at the top of that page is VEHICLES
ok so go to that and set the number to 3. that should do it!
And Mit, are you going to ever put up the buildings section, or am I going to have to write one, hack into the website, and put it there myself?
um if you goto buildings on the client its right there next to your selection.

ok well, the textures are on yuor side, not the world. you hve to set the textures and models for each building.
go to C:\Program Files\Island\clients\Data\Models\Bldgs (if you saved the isle in the default folder. adjust to appropriat file if not) and copy all the files in there.
then goto C:\Program Files\Island\Data\Models\Bldgs and paste them in there.
that means all the files you have downloaded from other isles will be in your data folder, meaning that you can set the textures and models
I can't find the store texture or the bakery texture
ok well bakery texture is BAKEBANK.BMP and the store texture can be STDPETROL01.BMP i think. or you can use others like drinkstore.bmp or TEBUTCHER2M.bmp (which i made myself )

And I'm here to stress one of the most important things:
"Turbo page uping is achieved by holding shift AND page up". .....if you missed that from Mattizme's post. I didn't know it when I first joined playing 0.4 so I sat around like a lemon waiting for the number to go above 10 sheckles. I'm sure you wouldn't have missed it anyway
