If I understood well, Wine still needs Windows to be installed on the same PC to be able to run. My laptop is 100% Linux. I still keep Windows XP for my desktop.

I'll re install it on my desktop. easier. Linux can be a pain when you want to play exclusively windows compatible games.

we could use a new forum section entitled Guides/Walkthoughs
or something like that
and also have a section where players post guides to be viewed, rated and approved of by the pro's
if they get good ratings and approvals they get to have it posted and stickied in the guides/walkthroughs forum(which could be locked and only used for guides)
we could have a guide for complete newbs
a guide to money making and space trade in space(reccommended trade routes, the idea of profit, recommended ships to get and good goals)
a guide to good starting planets(good planets and guides to them)
EDIT:i only skimmed the posts lol, sorry if the idea was taken/eradicated(?)

only problems with guides is that since stuff changes, they don't work to well.

most planets reset every few months, often with drastic changes to the economy or overall world design and theme. something that works in one world often wont work as well in the next running of it. a world could be set up with a detailed economy, and then 3 months later turn into a combat world with a small economy. it makes it hard (if not impossible) to make guides for worlds.

space is mostly consistent except for the changing prices of stuff (which can result in trade routes no longer being worthwhile), there have been a few made over time. one is here: http://www.tuwr.net/tuwr/pmwiki.php?n=Guides.SpaceTrade
granted, its not detailed, but i guess it could help some.
