jumping across the universe in a second

Post by kotalo »

Software:Universal Client
Version Number:0.51.9
________________________________________________________________________
Location
can be anywhere (outside of zoric)
________________________________________________________________________
Description:
this bug lets a user jump across any sector very easily in a matter of seconds
________________________________________________________________________
Steps to Replicate:
its very easy to replicate but I think it might not be fixable, I must get in contact with a staff member outside of the fourms, I'd post it but everyone would start using it, contact me as soon as possible, Alfred might report me because I used it once to show him,

My friend Alex (he doesn't speak english) showed me at his computer, how to replicate this bug. Then we used it 2 times: 1 time to test it (Honourless xyience53 was a laboratory rat; Oh, God, show me please his face at moment i escaped battle with him!) :-)
and 2nd time we used a bug to show it to Kotalo.
I think, this bug is very dangerous for Factions PWR system.
Dear staff, contact please me or Kotalo to obtain this bug (AndOr switch "on" private messages at forum! Is this too difficult in PHPbb??!)

using (at), (dog), (a) etc symbols in address is a bad way to protect your mailbox from spam.

Zar, are you sure you know about bots more then i know?
I am militant antispamer and fight spam since last century. And i tell you: even in 199*th address-earners haved no problem with so dummy "protections" such as replacing "@" symbol with english "(at)" or even russian "(собака)".
Moreover, if you can read HTML-code of this web-page, you can see the following code segment:

Code: Select all

<a href="mailto:vikingzaroba@gmail.com"><img src="templates/GISet2/images/lang_english/icon_email.gif" alt="Send e-mail" title="Send e-mail" border="0" /></a>
BTW i think, that this non-protection of user email is a very serious bug of this forum.

lol, who says all bots are created with the same skilled creators and can pick up the links off the email button?
a good majority of the bots i've seen come here and post stuff didn't even work properly.

would leave posts that were either empty or had scrambled code in them.

on a side note, i wouldn't doubt that you know more about bots then me. main 'bots' i know of are macro bots.

what about "name at domain com"? would that work better?
due to lack of any punctuation i can't imagine a bot would pick it up, it looks like normal chat.
