Glaxy Reset Rumours...

Post by dramaking444 »

Hey all,

I have been hearing rumours from space traders that TU will reset the space servers at new year.

Could any of the staff clarify this as it kinda ruins my master plan. (Below)

Seeing as my rubbish computer cannot sustain world graphics or gameplay, I was going to trade in space until january (when I get my new computer :) ). Now, if this reset is going to go ahead, I wont trade, and ill just see you guys again in january.

Please clarify....

Hmm. I dunno where the rumour started (might have been me, ah well) but: we haven't actually decided to do a reset. As you'll see from the other post Mishka refers to... resets do happen, we reset the galaxy when it makes sense to do so because the game has changed a lot, or it's getting boring, or just cos we want to start again. The last reset was just before Xmas 2005; doing it at the end of the year is when it's most likely to happen, but it didn't happen in 2006 and at the moment there are no firm plans to reset in 2007.

Not saying it won't happen, but there are no firm plans at the moment. That's mostly because mit's been busy with harriet v0.1 so the planned changes in the space game haven't happened. We should probably get together and just make a decision so all this rumour stops or is confirmed or whatever. Until then all I can say (again) is... no firm plans right now.

Sorry that's a bit vague. We are in beta y'know - you have to expect these things :)

Um, it's a game. You're wasting your time whether we reset or not.

Yes. Infimp is necessary for those of us who do not trade in space. Getting one free would be neat.

Reset would make more people stay. Looks kinda hopeless when you look at the top score list and see people with a million credits. New people wonder how much of a life they can't have to get those kinda points.

Will be a blast, unfortunatly I will not be taking part of that event because I will be regaining my previous status in far away systems, far from being disturbed. I might drop by cirrus minor once in a while though.

In past resets do space station items change locations. For example will new trade routes have to be found or will it all remain the same. Will Aliens generally live in the same areas or will they be re-locating, because finding them does not sound like to much fun.

hmm...don't remember completely, but i think in the last reset a lot of the item locations did change. except for the small water/food in the main systems.

Yeah, you are not the only one, I've seen many other people trading lately and I think how unfair would be if one day they wake up, log in on TU and see all their hard work done in the last week flushed down the toilet.
