It's called regular maintenance, to keep things running and operating smoothly. every server from big companies to the small home pc has to have maintenance done from time to time.

Well it was a long time I don't see Zion on mantenancce, I thought it was done already, so it cought me by surprise.

Well its been down all day.

maybe the pc broke and he doesn't have time to fix it yet.

maybe it acttually IS up but just unconnectable due to:
losing isp service for one of many reasons (like forgetting to pay, or a car accident or storm taking out some lines, or THEY are doing maintenance on lines or a server)
maybe a virus got into his network and is messing up stuff
maybe a net cable accidently got unplugged without being noticed
maybe his router died
maybe its just a normal bug similer to ones that prevent others worlds from occasionally showing as being up in the game despite the fact there correctly set up.
maybe its not an ISP or PC issue, maybe instead its an issue with the power company having a broken line due to a storm or car accident and hasen't fixed it yet.

maybe mits on vacation or on a business trip somewhere for a few days and thus isen't even home to know about it yet (i once went to the shore for a week and came back to find out my server pc crashed the day after i left)


the only person who could say why its down is mit.
if it was planned, he would have said.
if it wasen't planned and he had internet access or knew about it, he'd probably say why its down when it went down.
theres no way of knowing when it will be back up either. only mit would know that, and usually only when its planned.

I'm pretty sure he didn't know it was down... I've mailed him. Might be a PC glitch, could also be related to recent changes with the address resolution stuff Mit's been working on. I'll let you know when I know...
