lag spikes

yah every time I get on I end up getting several lag spikes every couple minutes while im in space I just wanted to figure out is this the game or is this my comp
I also lowered graphics to the worst possible
my specs are
512 ram
256 ddr vid card
pentium 3
windows xp

lagspike= a point in time where game freezes than several secondes later catches up with the real time.

isnt it weird though how even after u delete all viruses u get 1 in the next several hours

Or maybe it'syour ISP. I encountered lag spikes/random disconnections last night due to the fact that my ISP was working on thier business servers :\ Just a possibility..

without paying for anything and just clicking around a wee bit?
