um, what the patch does is listed on the downloads page. If you're not willing to accept patches on a fairly regular basis then this game probably isnt for u.. :]

fishing always did that....since 3.99.1 :P

nobody says you actually HAVE to upgrade, unless old clients can't connect to new islands, then you can just hold off on an upgrade until you find out if the changes/fixes make it worth downloading.

always how i did it when i used a 56k anyway.
back then patches came almost twice a week.

0.1.22
Made some of the robocrow graphics a little clearer. Fixed a couple of oddities with the purchsing and connection menus, and added some options to allow towns to be controlled properly. Added some security options to prevent trading between ppl on the same subnet, and fixed a bug that meant planes could be flown with the engine off. Some WIP "Fishing" stuff and other little things that ive forgotten.
for somebody that spends a lot of time asking if you can do closed beta testing im suprised by your attitude to patches.. .the whole concept of the closed beta is to identify the bugs that need fixing so that patches can be generated to make the game as playable for everybody as possible.

Matt be nice.

I can understnad your frustration with having to Dl and work with changes that dont seem to be helping alot. But please remember that this game is not in any mannor a finished virtion and should not be seen as such. Patches are a part of any program in production, look at windows they offer patches every months on there website. ITs part of working with computers. You can choose not to update if you please but it is not fair to ask Mit to hold updates from other players. These patches will be incorperated to latter game vertions. YOu dont ahve to downlaod them as soon as they are posted.

While it may be slightly irrelevant (my posts usually are in some respect or another) I can remember a note from Haedge saying that over 100 bugs have been fixed since .03. While some more bugs may have been introduced, that's still an awful lot for a part-time programmer.

wow, I had no idea it was that many.

Programing is hard, and even though A-Tractor can be rather unstable at times it is getting much better. I think its a combo of just more work on it and the skills of the programers inproving. THis newest vertion has really helped clean some stuff up.

nah my 'skills' are going downhill as i get older, its just the bugtracking thats improved :)
Total bugs fixed since 0.03 is now something more like 220+ (at least 3 of those have been around since before 0.009.6 :) ).. + probably only about 30% of the work done on this new version has been bugfixing.
