Collisions, buildings/bridges/ramps and hunting critters...

Post by DvdGStwrt »

I would like to make "open" buildings. buildings large enough that the character/avatar can actually walk inside. I would also like multistoried buildings.

Presently my world is set up to where you can "hunt" critters to earn grades to go to school (Sorry monkies give me nightmares - LOL).

The options with hunting do not seem to allow a close collision outline of the bridge/building and other models I have tested.

Ideally I want collision on all things set as realistically as possible, meaning that avatars will collide with each other, will be able to use ramps, bridges and hunt and even have to walk around trees instead of through them.

T'muiria is the planet located in M-383 presently.

currently there is nothing setup to allow multi level collisions, wildlife colliding with buildings, or full building interiors

but, there is somewhat of a work around.
if you were to model all the buildings without roofs and without doors (so you basicly had only the building walls), then turned on collision mode 7, you would be able to walk inside the building, exploring rooms, etc, and you woulden't be able to go threw walls. wildlife still would be able to. but, if you want the buildings to have roofs, you would have to make the roof as a seperate model and seperate building in the bdat file, then build it so it fits on the house (it would have to be offset by a tile or two since 2 buildings can't be on the same tile). the roof building would have to have collisions disabled via the bdat.

i'm already planning on making a mansion like this.

there is a way to have interiors for buildings, but its still a bit shite atm. (Controls and functionality need a lot of work still.) Other main problem with it is actually getting nice looking interior models too, of course..

if its currently doable with what we got, plz show me the way XD. i can handle functionality and control issues, as long as i can get in and get out without winerroring out =).

so many ideas/questions come to mind everytime this topic comes up. are the interior sizes customizable? will there eventually be a way to build models inside of 'building interiors' =)

Oh well. I'll wait around a few more months... years (if it takes that) before I build that world that way.

Thanks any how.
