ok so i pulled out my World Owners Manual v0.1 handy little help box and started reading up on needs and health effects and variables, and i started putting a calc to it... my goal is to allow ppl to go, online, without eating for about 5 hrs and then allow a few game days at starving to get fat n happy and their health goes up just as quickly as it was going down., with in house / offline a bit less.

i got the needs rate in check, ok... and tested the health decay at various needs rates to see how that works out.... was on my target.. Then, ppl on the planet start asploding.... barely any needs, and health just fine in check accoring to the players (and i dont have any reason to believe otherwise). in pops in another problem... ihave it on 5 free death respawns, at 0 lives left you lose your stuff. Some people, are losing everyhing, some are getting their free respawn... with 4 and 5 lives left.


Asking around when this happened, i believe the common in this is : those that get a free respawn may have been in a vehicle, the others in their druid character.

I changed it up, and dropped starving health drop to 0, and used the hunger health loss modifier.
from my understanding if ur less than 40% hunger/thirst health isnt ouched, and after that the more your needs are, the faster health drops...

I set this to a modest setting..... 1

People in houses, with plenty of food and drink died (thankfully they received their free respawn life). I checked in their house and the only consumable item in their house were the proper food items.

one player health decayed 2 times in 5 mins while we were discussing the problem
the 2nd time... just before his health decay he had 50k health in his showbill, and 'a little bit of green hunger, black thirst bar'.



do other planets with hunger/thirst have this problem? I havnt played many that use needs and health decay in a while, but i dont remember seeing these problems.

i believe the lives thing only helps players when they are offline.
if your online and die, you loose your stuff.


for the most part, all the settings should be somewhat low. you might be useing too high a setting in one of the health decay fields.

on zoric the settings are..
Online Needs - 100
Online Health Loss - 100
Offline Needs - 50
Offline Health Loss - 100
At rest Needs - 5
At rest health loss - 100

Health Decay - 5
Max Health Decay - 10
Hunger Increase - 500
Thirst Increase - 750
Health Decay Starving - 25
Low Needs Health Gain Mod - 5
Hunger Health Loss Mod - 10
Thirst Health Loss Mod - 15
Realtime health recovery - 5


get 5 hours off line without being in a house
to make you die quicker in a house, can increase the at rest setting

ok ill see how those settings work of for me..

about the lives offline or not.. sunday 2 players both health decayed at the same time, they both lost everything, and one shortly after that was online that didnt,.. just respawned at town. monday then the same 2 exploded at the same time and one lost everything and one didnt.

someone exploded in a house monday and lost everything, had 5 lives before death.
