pirates seriously screw up space

Post by killkill »

yeah, i just wanna say...

IF U MOFO PIRATES WANT ME TO GET MOFO SHIELDS< STOP MOFO-ING KILLING ME!!!

Retry_1, i mean u must be aa serious w**** to friggin kill me when i was trading 12 mofo-ing water and only .1cr left over!! Not only that, u have 51000 MOFO-ING creds!! no wonder noobs a friggin leaving space because of u a-holes!! i cant even get to 150cr without being MOFO-ING shot down!!

Same with u lordmyrth, i pray that the game still has friggin players after u go friggin noob killing!! TU needs a reform in the weapon rules if it WANTS to keep it's players/traders, and u pirates should agree 2 or u wont HAVE any MOFO-ING thing to hunt at all!!

-Edit-
I think zar is right. TU would be better if there were no weapons in the fed systems, like he said. then traders would be able to excel and eventually pirates would have better "kills"

P.S. I changed this to stop some confusion about wat zar said. srry!!

when is soon. im tired of restarting and having to trade 4 even more hours from my life. all thnx to Retry_1's need to kill the noob with new shields, i only have 0.1cr left over. pirates these days just stick around planets like zion, where all the good trade routes usually end.

check your forums, i've issued a kill on sight after your rash outburst and my already mention over our channel about kilkill been a GR member. If we cannot work this out in-game, i suggest we use the topic in your forums.

Actually...I'd like to mention, I've not been in the game for the past 72 hours. So, if someone did kill you, they used a name close to mine. Probably used a captial I instead of a lower case L.

So...I really hope you're refering to like...earlier in Feb. Heck, the last newbie I killed, I helped get shields like an hour later. Gave up my bounty and all.

So, I dunno what yer complaining about. If yer polite, I usually am quite willing to work with you, wrack up a 200+ credit bounty, then letcha Red alert me and log, so you can afford the shields. I even usually do this right there at like Syv or wherever cheap shields are sold.

But this brings up a valid point...way back in the day, before I even really talked to Coolbiker and KB and Mit...I picked up shields as my like 2nd or third thing on my list, and this was back when they were like 500 credits.

Why were you not smart enough to do so, before it got bad?

Oh well...

The Louder they Bark...the weaker they are.

How much harder is it to build up to the 500 credits?

hmm...you save up 400cr, get blown up, restart...save up 300cr, get blown up, restart, repeat, repeat, repeat.

also...let me add...i never said tu would be better with no space.
before the starting systems were opened to weapons, nobody had any problem with piracy.

Yea but none of the staff are changing it back, it's beginning to ruin the game's playability

Guys guys, Im talking it over with retry, Hes an ES bro, we'll see if we can atleast get SOME of the noob hunting to stop. But heres a tip, Dont take crap, noob hunters go after you because you weak, and an easy target. Make yourself a hard target and they wont hunt you as much. Evade them if they chase you, spin alot do alot of flips in space, just keep their lasers from hitting you. They will get annoyed, and give up. I can say this because i was on that noob hunting brigade with retry. And something else, Buy an INFIMP first thing! other systems are less watched then the main, You will be MUCH safer there, plus...the main isnt really that good of a trade route :? I never trade in the main, too many people do, so you wont make a good profit. So remember..evade=annoy=safety

The case has been made by the staff (well, me) to The Grand Creator (er, that'd be mit). I'd like to see a few changes overall to the way space works. I sympathise with both sides: you don't need some super-ships wasting you while you're learning the game, and conversely, it's a free galaxy (kind of) and if you want to go a-hunting, why not.

While banning weapons in the starting systems would be a quick fix, it doesn't actually solve the problem in a way that advances the game forward, and - while mit's been too busy lately to discuss this in detail - I suspect that's why the ban hasn't been reintroduced.

What I think we should be looking for isn't a reintroduction of the ban, but proper penalties for people who kill other people. Such as not allowing pirates to dock at lawful stations, or being attacked by station defenses... that kinda thing. I also think it'd help if the galactic economy was a bit more balanced: there's too much emphasis IMO on a few trades between starting system worlds and a handful of others. And finally, given the huge increase in the number of people with the high-end quest ships it's clear that stuff needs changing too: no way has everyone spent the necessary time exploring etc. Yes it's only natural for people to help each other find the secret stuff, especially if you're in the same clan or whatever, but I think all that has to change: those ships are way too powerful to be picking on newbs, and I'd like to see them made unique.

Anyway, Mit's away for the next week at GDC, but I'll try to get something moving when he's back. In the meantime, it seems to me there's an awful lot of people complaining about piracy and no-one who's doing something constructive about it.. like policing the starting systems. Just a thought (while we wait for AI police ships to appear ;)

im not insulting u. i just dont like noob killers, whether it is me who is the victim or others.
lordmyrth wrote:But this brings up a valid point...way back in the day, before I even really talked to Coolbiker and KB and Mit...I picked up shields as my like 2nd or third thing on my list, and this was back when they were like 500 credits.
first, one reason i cant get shields is because of my schedule. during the week, i probably play an average 10 hours. not only that, about half the time i play planets, because space gets really boring 4 me if i play to long. so that leaves give or take 5 hours every week 4 me to play in space. that isnt a lot of time to trade trade with. i usually make 50cr - about less than 100cr each week. then, while i'm peacefully trading, a weeks worth of work is gone by some pirate who cant go get bigger bait.

As wat Fooli said, either we need heavier penalites to pirates, and so much to stop pirating, but so that they dont go against noobs. i hate it when i see a noob being picked on and not being able to do anything about it, and also to have to keep restarting my account every week.

-Edit-
Btw Mishka, at the current rules 4 now, it is way too EASY to pirate. all u have to do is to go stalk a noob while he is trading noob cargo (whether minerals, foodstuff, or water) and that's a quick 50-100cr. of course though, SR as far as i can see has no need for that kind of money.

Also Fooli, has Mit come up with anything on noob pirating or is it still in debate on the restrictions?

the only problem is u cant become a hard target if u keep getting killed b4 u r a hard target. that is my whole point, pirates r just making the game easier 4 themselves, and also making even harder to find noobs. anyway, all of the cheap stuff that i can afford after every restart is at the main, and i usually trade water till i get an infimp, which i have. the only other problem is that i will now have to restart yet again, but smithy said he is gonna help me get some creds (god bless u) so i can become a formidable opponent.

All i can say is u people must like complaining on the forums more than u like playing the game.
If i have a problem i use my brain to overcome it.
Mit made this game to be how HE wants it ..... not us.
If the staff want to freeze my account temporarily and give me another with starting credits to prove how easy it is to start then please do .
U lot just like complaining and winding other people up.
If u dont like the game as it is .... go find another one.
There r lots of ways to protect ur credits. The moaners on here know who the pirates r, if 1 comes along just f12 BEFORE u r shot at. Its not hard, ask kb32a, he did it a while ago when attacked.
All i ask is that u stop ur moaning and engage ur brains for a bit, then we can all enjoy this very good, FREE game :D

And all u planet hoggers ..... stick to planets and keep ur space opinions to yourselves.... You know who u r :D
