Stuff for coolbiker..
Stuff for coolbiker..
(.. and anyone else who has similar ideas).
I'm in the process of adding some stuff to make handling of events like the recent fight night a bit easier (as mentioned in chat).
The gal staff now have an option to set a player as the 'Guardian' of a system in space. The guardian will have access to a range of commands, such as..
!sysmsg <MSG>
Sends a special 'Guardian' message to everyone in the starsystem
!sysshields <ON/OFF>
Activates or deactivates shields for everyone in the starystem
!sysbounties <ON/OFF>
Activates or deactivates bounties for everyone in the starystem
!syskick <NAME>
Kicks the named player from the starsystem
!syssendstation <NAME> <PLANET_NAME>
Sends the player to the spacestation of the planet named
!syssendallstation <PLANET_NAME>
Sends all players in the starsystem to the spacestation of the planet named
!sysgame <NUM>
Activates a preset systemwide game (to be implemented later)
!syssetteam <NAME> <NUM>
Sets the team number for the player
!syslockstation <NAME> <PLANET_NAME>
Locks the player in the spacestation of the planet named.
!syslockallstation <PLANET_NAME>
Locks all players in the spacestation of the planet
!sysunlock <NAME>
Unlocks a player from a spacestation
!sysunlockall
Unlocks all players from the spacestation
!sysgrantcredits <NAME> <AMOUNT>
grants galcash to the named player. The cash comes from the Guardian's wealth.
!sysgrantitem <NAME> <AMOUNT> <ITEM_NAME>
'grants' an item to the named player. The item comes from the Guardian's inventory
!sysban <NAME>
(temporarily) ban a player from entering the starsystem
!sysbanweapons <NAME>
Stops a player from using weapons in the system
!systimer <SECONDS>
Activates a countdown timer for everyone in the system
(The various commands like !sysban that have a lasting effect will stay active only as long as the guardian is online and in the system).
Some of these will be available in 0.50.5 - If theres any other Guardian commands you'd like (of a similar nature to these) lemme know.

but they could use these abilities for personal gain.
although.
you could assign guild leaders to a certain area in the galaxy like a base of operations and you can have a station where u can manage your guild. would be very effective.
but lots of ppl will make guilds. maybe just give this to existing guilds nad then set a high requirement for any new guilds.

Yes, a good point.smithy953! wrote:this could be good but if a sys guardian holds a grudge against a player it could make their lives hell and what if a sys guardian see's some-1 wid cargo they want, they could remove the traders sheilds and wepons then kill em causing un-fair game play
System Guardians could be people that have given a cash donation to the game. So then, if you don't wanna risk the abuse, don't trade there. Otherwise, they paid for the right to tweak space in that system how they want...

I believe these commands have been added so that events like the fight night are easier to maintain and so that the host of the event has more control. I dont think it was even intended for it to be used by the guilds and if it is I believe its a bad idea as it will be abused but if the guilds become a success maybe something like player owned stations (say if a guild has a home planet they have some controll over their planets space station) or something like that but not the ability to ban people from the system etc
