People Can't Connect to My Planet Successfully Everytime

Post by Theros_12 »

About 95% of the time people have to reconnect to my planet about 3-4 times.

I'm not on a rounter.

Could this have anything to do with me using a satilite internet. It has an unconsistant upload rate where it will will upload for about 5-10 seconds, then it it will idle for about 2 seconds. Are the any settings in the unregistered server client that I could adjust to fix what may be causing this problem?

I mean they have to try to reconnect about 3-4 times just to get on the planet.

Even more of a problem:

I took my planet offline for a while, now when I try to reconnect it I keep getting my galaxy connection refused. And my chat server is down

Heard this quite a few times now and there was a mention when Kron was talking on Zoric about this that other's are experiencing it also. Maybe another thing which depends on the chat server? :?

ur planet not connecting to the gal is probably a side-effect of the temporary move of the gal server. Hopefully this should 'fix itself' in the next few days once its back in place and the new versions are up.

The general difficulty connecting to planets is something i only occasionally experience (making it difficult to debug..), but it is under investigation.. my best guess so far is that every so often lag 'issues' are confusing the (rather drunkenly coded) file transfer system.. for which ive recently built a replacement that (so far) is proving to be quite neat. Once tested some more, and assuming it remains pleasing, i'll shift all the server connection downloads to the new system and hopefully that'll make everything just generally more reliable.
And if not ill have another whiskey and no-one will notice.

Well my chat server is still not starting up, and I've lost all my galatic prestige. I paid for 5, got 1, now I have none. :( I bought them on imperial.
