That might be the reason I've been #3 for the past 3 months :P

there seems to be more of a prob with the gal wealth than it merely not updating often enough - for some reason it now only shows either me or chezz, (me on my machine, chezz on his machine), but never both of us at the same time, despite both of us being in the top 5.

never used to do that, and its a little odd....

From my observations nothing has been updating on this site lately. Hardrockmen has been the last registered user for the last 50 days. Hope there's something wrong. :?

It's possible there's something afoot with the galaxy wealth update - would need Magic to look into that. I'm not sure how that system works but it seems at least slightly likely that it got broken in our recent web upgrade.

As for the user update: actually, things aren't broken any more. Well, not as broken. Said upgrade was done to stop us getting spammed with fake users, and since we did that we haven't had any (that I'm aware of). So yeh, hardrockmen was the last, but that was only about a month ago :) It does seem *slightly* odd that we've only had one user in the last month: even given all the spam users (and there are hundreds if not thousands of them) there were still a handful of people joining each week. I'll get Magic to take a look.

hmmmn.... i'm guessing the prob chezz and i have been experiencing has something to do with us having the same IP address, esp if there have been security tweaks...

Probably Sonro. I'd guess it's more to do with the galaxy than the webside of things... for example, I actually came reasonably high on the wealth list the first year it was run. But because the galaxy's on my LAN it decided to ignore me altogether in the end-of-year report :)

I don't think mit's changed anything gal-wise in recent weeks, but... again, i see if i can find out.

ok it appears all is working again now... for the curious amongst you :)

1) no new members on the website, it appears that when i ftp'd the upgrade to the forums it only copied half of the user registration script to the site and therefore noone could register, thanks to an over enthusiastic spam filter i didnt get the emails from a couple of the players telling us it was broken.

2) gal charts, seems as simple as for some reason up until now the gal server didnt seem to need port 21 open on the firewall now it does :) last update was done this morning we will monitor to see if it is truly working again now.
