Description:
The blurring for level of detail renduring of LAy Surface tiles is a bit extreme. anything further away then a drawdist of 50 (or 5 default sized tiles) when in 3rd person is extremly blurrey.

even in first person mode, you can see it being extremly blurrey 3 default tiles in front of you.

heres a pic:
Image
the wide dark road on the left was made via Lay Path.
the narrow lighter road on the right was made via Lay Surface.
notice how blurrey the Lay Surface tiles get compaired to the Lay Paths road.
viewing distance in the pic is 900, but the stuff is extremly blurry not even half way to the end of the view.

the problem there is that the layered images, which use the blue surface for transparency, cannot be mipmaped as it generates black lines around the edge of the graphic. When compared to the normal mipmapped surfaces it will appear very different. Not much i can about that without a whole load of pain, so you'll either have to live with it, or at least, try to avoiding mixing the two types of surface.

If you object to the level of blurriness of the normal mimapped textures, you can adjust that clientside in the graphic options.
