How do I return to my X-Fighter?
How do I return to my X-Fighter?
Hello, everyone first post anyways How do I remove my Cargo Transport so my ship returns to being an X-Fighter it is such a waste of time 3 days to accumilate 1250 creds and be left with 75 then sell a little thinking I would have an X-Fighter cargo with similar speed?
Also does buying an extension cargo do the same or does it leave my X-Fighter with an increased cargo but no changes in speed?

when you buy a ship, it replaces your old one. so, the only wany to change ships it to buy another, or sell the one you have if possible.
extension bays work on any ship you have and you keep no matter how many different ships you go threw. so, if you buy a 10t expansion when you have a cargo ship, the expansion still works when you upgrade to an xfighter, or whatever other ships you might buy.

So theres no way of getting my x-fighter back?
What I meant was if lets say I buy a 10t Extension does it convert my let say x-fighter to a cargo ship or does it leave it the same except with more space

Listen Carfully everyone after spending 3 days accumilating something like 1200 credits I went and bought an X-Fighter I did not know about cargo extensions in detail at that time I went and bought a cargo transport thinking it was the only way to carry items, now how can I get back the x-fighter becouse the cargo tranport is an uneccisary item that I would would rather have less space, then to have the a slow cargo enhancment.

hi norvick, welcome to the game
firstly, unless one of the game staff (aka gods) is feeling a little more than generous, and maybe even a little drunk, there are only 2 ways in which you can get back your x-fighter, and I'm afraid both involve going back to the laborious space trade you had to do to get it in the first place. Frustratin' i know
method 1 - go back to trading with the cargo ship you have now (with or without extension) and then buy a new x-fighter
method 2 - (slightly more drastic) - close all in-game windows (coms/maps/trade reports) and whilst in space type !resetme - this will reset your space character back to how you were when you first started the game - with the same cash and shuttle, and give you a chance of getting back your x-fighter with a clean slate. this will not reset any planetary characters you have, only affects space.
for future reference - a good place to check ship stats before you buy is http://www.tuwr.net/pmwiki.php?n=Galaxy.ShipStats
there are also hints and tips scattered here and there for newbie space traders, one of the better ones is in the news archives on the TU homepage: http://theuniversal.net/narchive.php
as the guys above have mentioned - buying a ship replaces the one you currently have - its not garaged or stored for you to return to. ship add-ons such as cargo bay extensions and stardrives all remain in your ship inventory, but only the largest is accessible for use - they are not cumulative. occasionally you can get lucky and find a station to dispose of old extensions/stardrives, but generally at a loss

Magic Fingers I dont know what you mean, listen I for 3 days traded in space then when I had 1200 I bought an X-Fighter,which removed the cargo ship that I had I thought I need a cargo transport, since you couldent trade unless you had it for trading so I went and bought it and when I launched I was horrified to notice that I had the same previouse ship and not the X-Fighter.
Re: How do I return to my X-Fighter?
the game makers & developers - who all do this for fun, its not their paid job, will on occasion help out newbies who get into difficulties, by tinkering behind the scenes and fixing what went wrong.Norvik wrote:Also what do you mean Gods(Staff),what do you mean?and how?
looks like magicfinger (one of that volunteer staff team) - has fixed your problem, acc. to his post. - that's why he asked for your in-game user account name - so he could find you and help. hope its all sorted for you now
